Fitbit Flex review

Hi everyone,

As many of you may know I am crazy into fitness. So when I got a few vouchers for Amazon, I thought what better to get than a Fitbit. I have been looking at getting one for what feels like forever. I have to say it was vouchers well spent because I love it. So having said this I thought what I could do for todays post is review it for you. As I know these are a lot of money, so its good to know if they are worth getting. I know I read hundreds of reviews before getting mine. If you are as into fitness as I am, I am sure you will love this post.

Who are Fitbit?

Fitbit are a company who strive to create products aimed towards health and fitness. They use sensors and wireless technology to track your health and fitness levels. They sell bands and scales. All of which monitor everything from your steps to your heart rate to your percentage of body fat. If you are a fitness freak, this is the company you should be loving. You can also link all Fitbit devices with the Fitbit app and they automatically sync.

What is the Fitbit flex?

When purchasing mine I went for the Fitbit flex. Which is one of their slimmer bands and it comes in an array of different colours. I decided to go for the teal wristband, and I love it. The colour is incredible. The flex monitors your activity day and night. You get two wristbands with this particular model, one smaller and one larger. I wear the smaller of the bands.

What do I like about the Flex? And do I have any dislikes?

Firstly there is nothing I dislike about this band, it is the perfect device. What I love about it is the way I can effortlessly sync my Fitbit to my phone. Once I have done this all my data is just there in front of me. Its just one simple click. I love seeing how many steps I do in a day. I always aim to do at least 10,000 a day. The colour of mine is incredible. Initially I was really worried it would be to bright, this is not the case at all. The band is really comfortable on my wrist and I hardly ever feel it on there. One of my favourite features of this band is that it tracks my sleep. I just find it so interesting to see where I have been restless in the night. Also it tells you how long it took you to fall asleep, which is always a surprise.

The Fitbit app?

This app is super easy to use and tells you everything you need to know. What you can find on the app is the following:

- Steps

- Miles

- Calories burned

- Active minutes

- Track your exercise

- Weight

- Water intake

- Food intake

- Sleep

-Hourly activity

Where to buy and price?

Fitbit- £79.99
Amazon- £59.99

I hope that you have enjoyed this post. If you were looking to get a Fitbit hopefully this has helped you out. Do you have a Fitbit? If so which one and how do you get on with it? Let me know in the comments. See you Friday.

Summer skincare tips

Hi everyone,

I know that here in England we are coming close to the end of our summer, but in many countries you may only just be starting yours. So I thought it is still perfect time to talk about summer skincare. I recently discovered the Dollar Shave Club and decided I wanted to help them spread awareness about summer skincare. So many people don't know how to change their skincare routine in the summer and most, don't think they need too. Summer is the best time to change your skincare as so many more factors come into play. Saying this, your skincare should change seasonally. Also you know how much I love skincare, so how could I not help to spread awareness on this subject.

1. SPF

Picture: https://www.douglas.de/douglas/Pflege-Sonnen-Sonnenschutz-Clinique-Sonnenpflege-SPF-40-Face-Cream_productbrand_3000028401.html

This is the most important tip you will see on this blog post, that is a 100% honest opinion. You apply SPF all over your skin to prevent burning and skin damage. So why do most people not bother with their faces? Honestly I cant understand it. The skin on you face is so much more delicate, it needs the care and attention. So when summer is round the corner get yourself to that drugstore and get skincare products with SPF in. Trust me, its a game changer. Don't want SPF in skincare? Then make sure your applying your SPF to your skin after your routine.

2. Changing that routine up

That's right, summers here, so why are you using them same products you were using in winter. Your skin changes with the season. For example, winter, my skin dries out, it needs added moisture. Summer? I find my skin gets slightly oily and I can find I am rocking that shiny look. This isn't what you want, you want to look glowing not greasy. You want to look your best. So if you notice that your skin is changing, listen to it. Get yourself some new products and allow your skin to look its very best. All summer round.

3. Moisturise

I have heard people say may of times that they don't need to use a moisturiser because it makes their skin oily. In reality, your just using the wrong moisturiser. You find you get oily in the summer months? Then why are you still using that thick, creamy moisturiser. You just need a lighter one. You need to cater your skincare to what your skin needs. That's right, you cant just use any old thing. So make sure you have the right moisturiser for the right time of the year.

4. Facial mists

Picture: http://vogue.in/content/ways-use-face-mists

Summer is hot, no matter where you are. This then makes your skin dry out, which is not good in anyone's books. Especially when we are aiming for glowing skin. So some people can find using a toner just doesn't help this situation. This is where facial mists come in. The are obviously in spray form, this ensures that you get a fine covering. They are also extremely cooling for the skin. So perfect for summer. They can be used anytime, even part way through the day to cool your skin down.

5. Exfoliate

Picture: http://lipsticklifestyle.com/2010-lipstick-powder-n-paint-readers-choice-beauty-award-winners/best-facial-exfoliator/

Lastly I have exfoliate. This is super important. Glowing skin does not come from dry/flaky skin. So grab yourself a good exfoliator, and give your face a scrub. You exfoliate your body in the summer right? To make sure you get rid of any scaly legs. So don't forget your face, this skin is just as important.

So they are a few tips I have for summer skincare. I hope that this has helped you all in someway. If you want to check out the Dollar Shave Club, you will find their website here. Also why not check out their skincare products page, I am sure you will find something you love. You will find that here. I hope you have had an amazing bank holiday weekend. I will see you again on Wednesday.

Neal's yard remedies oily & combination skincare kit review

Hi everyone,

You all know I love my skincare, and when I go away its no exception. These skincare kits from NYR are incredible. Miniature products are the go to when going away, so why should your skincare be any different? Today I am going to review one of their skincare kits, I hope you enjoy.

What is the kit?

Neal's Yard Remedies do a selection of skincare kits, which all contain different products. You can chooses from Dry, Oily and Combination, Normal, Age-defying. I personally went for the Oily and Combination, as this was the one for my skin type. Each kit then contains a selection of products all from that particular range. Making up a complete facial kit. As I said before all the products are miniature, but lets face it, that's just cute.

What do you get in the kit?

In the oily and combination kit you get the following products:

- Purifying palmarosa facial wash 25ml
- Purifying palmarosa toner 25ml
- Purifying palmarosa daily moisturiser 25ml
- Purifying palmarosa facial mask 15g
- Purifying palmarosa mattifier sachet x2

About the products?

Purifying palmarosa facial wash:

This facial wash is super gentle and lifts away grime, dirt and makeup off of the skin. The smell of this set is all the same for all the products and it is really lovely. This facial wash bubbles up really well. Also I know the bottles look small but all these products lasted me longer than my weeks holiday.

Purifying palmarosa toner:

This is the perfect next step from your facial wash. It purifies and removes any last traces of wash that is left on your skin. By using the toner you are preparing your skin ready for the moisturiser, which will help it sink in better. It doesn't over dry out your skin but leaves it feel ultra soft. Just apply this to a cotton wool disc and wipe over your skin. Don't forget your neck.

Purifying palmarosa daily moisturiser:

This was the first time I have ever used this moisturiser and it is really nice. This helps to add moisture where needed and helps to balance excess oils on your skin. It is fairly thin in consistency so it sinks into your skin perfectly. Leaving you feeling moisturised but not with an inch thick of product left on your skin.

Purifying palmarosa facial mask:

I will be honest with you I have not yet used this facial mask, but I have used it before, its just this pot I haven't. I love this face mask. It deep cleanses, unblocks pores and decongests the skin. What more could you want from a mask. I like to use this once a week. It always leaves your skin super soft.

Purifying palmarosa mattifier:

This helps to reduce the appearance of pores and control unwanted shine. This is a really cool product, it actually works. This was my first time using this one and is definitely something I will be repurchasing. It really helped to take the shine off my skin, so I didn't look like a shiny mess on holiday.

Overall thoughts?

I love this kit and if you are looking to go away these are perfect. Or if you have never tried NYR products and want to test them out, this is your solution. The products are a perfect size and you couldn't ask for more from a starter kit. I absolutely adore all of these products featured in this kit and all will be repurchased again. I have also used the normal skincare kit in the past, which is just as good. I couldn't highly recommend a product more than this kit and that is a honest opinion.

Where to buy and price?

All of the kits I mentioned in this post can be found here. They all retail at the price of £15.00.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post. I love reviewing products, its just so much fun. If there are any products you would want me to try and review, please let me know in the comments. These kits really are awesome and in my opinion, a holiday must have. I hope your all having a good week and have lots planned for the bank holiday weekend. See you Sunday for another blog post.

Why I started YouTube?

Hi everyone,

Many of you may not know but I actually have a YouTube channel. I have been doing YouTube for roughly 3 months now and I love it. So I thought today I would write a post to tell you about why I started YouTube. I am also going to include what I love about it and give you a little insight into what my channel is all about.

So as you can probably tell this blog post is going to be a bit more chatty and less pictures. So I will try and keep it short but sweet.

Picture: http://www.handy-tests.net/1967-m-youtube-com-youtube-mobil-im-neuen-design/

I started YouTube because I had been watching youtuber's for what felt like forever. I loved watching other peoples videos, everything interested me. From the way they film, the quality of their videos and the incredible amounts of confidence they oozed in every video. It had always been something that interested me and I thought for a good few years that I should do it. But if you have been reading my blog for quite a while you will know I am not the most confident coin out there. I need a little push to help me along. Like my blog, without the kind and inspirational words of my manager at work, this may have never happened. So when it came to YouTube I still needed that push. It was on my bucket list for this year, but I was aiming more end of the year than beginning. Then one day I am sorting out a post to publish on here and the video I wanted to attach was too large. I spoke to a good blogger friend of mine and she convinced me that if I wanted people to see my video I had made and spent 5 hours editing, YouTube was the way. That's how it all started.

I will be 100% honest with you, like I always am, I don't own any fancy high tech gear. I film and edit all my videos on my IPhone. Yes you read that right, everything is done on my trusty IPhone. I do plan on getting a camera in the future and a better laptop so I can edit my videos to the best standard. But these things come. All that really matters is that I LOVE making videos. Yes mine are not the best quality videos out there, but believe me I am trying, and I love what I do.

Others things I love about YouTube and another reason I wanted to start is that it is an amazing way to meet new people. Also it is in my opinion an amazing place for my readers to go. As it is a place where they actually get to see me. This then gives all you guys a chance to get to know me and get a better understanding of who I am.

If your thinking of starting YouTube please bare in mind, its hard work. Yes that's right I said hard work. But trust me when I say its worth it. I have 7 subscribers. Yes I know that's not that many, but every time it goes up I get a little wave of excitement. Hard work really pays off. I honestly believe that you should do something that makes you happy, and for me this does. I work a full time job as a hairdresser, and in my spare time I blog and make YouTube videos. I couldn't be happier about this situation at all. Yes sometimes it hard to explain to clients what I do in my free time, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

My channel is all about the things in life I love. Just like my blog. Think beauty, hair and lifestyle videos. I am also hoping to get out some baking videos. If this interests you let me know in the comments. Also if there is any videos you would like to see me do please do let me know in the comments.

I hope you have enjoyed this little post about why I started YouTube and what I think about it. I hope I didn't rant too much. If I did I am sorry I am just passionate about what I do. If you would like to check out my YouTube channel you will find that here. I will be so grateful if you do and while your there I would love if you subscribed and left me a comment saying you are from my blog. I hope you are all having an awesome week.

Eden's Semilla Jojoba oil review

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me by the company to review. Having said this, all opinions are my own.

 Hi everyone,

You all know how I love a good product, and this one is a new one of my loves. I have been using this product for a good two weeks now and it is awesome. So I thought, hey why not share it with you guys. I love reading about new products on the market and if you do too, your in the right place.

Firstly, who are Eden's Semilla?

Eden's Semilla are a fairly new online business which was founded in the U.S. They specialise in selling oils and serums through their website. The name "Eden's Semilla" is Spanish and translates into "Eden's Seed".

What is the product?

A great place to start when reviewing a product is to tell you a little bit about it. So the product I am reviewing today is their Jojoba oil. This oil, compared to others on the market, is 100% pure organic. Which lets face it is what people are loving right now. This product contains no nasty's, it is what you see, 100% pure organic jojoba oil. This is formulated to closely resemble sebum, which is naturally produced by the skin glands to create softer skin.

What are the benefits of using this product?

- Its a natural conditioner
- Non greasy
- It protects and repairs
- It has a high absorbency
- Contains vitamin C and essential fatty acids for all round skin defence

How to use it?

This product has so many uses. It can really be used anywhere. You can apply 2-3 drops to face/skin every morning and evening. It can also be applied to your hair and nails to keep them in the best condition possible.

What was my impressions of this product?

I love this product. The oil is so light and doesn't just sit on your skin, like some others I have used. I also really like the smell of this oils, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I have been using this on my face every evening for the last two weeks, and I have seen an improvement in my skin. I also when I was recently away on holiday, burnt my face. This has been my lifesaver. It helped me to regain the condition back into my skin which I had lost from the sunburn. It was also a massive help with the peeling. I have also used this product on my nails. This was before and during having the my Shellac manicure applied. It has helped to keep my nails in the best condition possible and also helped my manicure last as long as possible.

How did I use it?

- Nails

- Skin

Overall thoughts?

I love this product. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to try out an oil. Whether that be for hair, skin or nails. This is the one you are looking for.

Where to buy?

https://edenssemilla.com/

So guys that is my review of the Eden's Semilla Jojoba oil, as you can tell I love it. Have you ever tried any of their products? If you have let me know in the comments. If you haven't, why not pop over to their website and have a little browse. I hope you all had an awesome weekend. Lastly I would love to thank the lovely people at Eden's Semilla for sending me this lovely product to try. It will definitely be something I repurchase in the future.

My bedroom makeover

Hi everyone,

Back in July I redecorated my bedroom. I have loved the whole process of this project. From the picking the paint to the accessories to go in my room. My aim is to work towards a grey, pale pink and copper room, which I am still in the process of doing. I have not yet finished my room and I am still working towards getting more bits and bobs. On the other hand I thought you would be interested in seeing how it is looking so far. So here we go...

BEFORE:

My wardrobe was overfilled and down the side of my wardrobe was cluttered

Ignore my bags but this gives you an idea of where my bed was

My room was cluttered and furniture sat on top of each other

I then got a new dressing table but was still cluttered

Muji storage to organise the drawer
Alex drawers to store all my stuff
 DURING:

Darker grey wall is Dulux City Getaway "Monument Grey"

Lighter grey walls are in Dulux City Getaway "Feather Flock"
FINISHED:

Blanket: Matalan

Duvet: Matalan

Pillow: Primark

This and that basket: Matalan, Fairy lights: Tesco

Bedside tables: Next

Loads of my products

My cookbooks

Bits and bobs basket: Matalan

Dressing table: Ikea

Drawer storage: Muji

Copper lights: Primark

Some of my favourite books

Vintage copper clock: Matalan

Bedside products

Floating shelves: Argos

Photo frame: Primark

Storage box: The Range, Candle: Primark

Pen pots: Tesco, Sharpies: Tesco
So that is what my room looked like and now looks like. I love it and by changing where my bed is makes my room look so much bigger. What does your room look like? Let me know in the comments. Do you have any ideas of anything you think will go well in my room? Let me know in the comments. Hope your having a good week.
