Summer skincare tips

Hi everyone,

I know that here in England we are coming close to the end of our summer, but in many countries you may only just be starting yours. So I thought it is still perfect time to talk about summer skincare. I recently discovered the Dollar Shave Club and decided I wanted to help them spread awareness about summer skincare. So many people don't know how to change their skincare routine in the summer and most, don't think they need too. Summer is the best time to change your skincare as so many more factors come into play. Saying this, your skincare should change seasonally. Also you know how much I love skincare, so how could I not help to spread awareness on this subject.

1. SPF

This is the most important tip you will see on this blog post, that is a 100% honest opinion. You apply SPF all over your skin to prevent burning and skin damage. So why do most people not bother with their faces? Honestly I cant understand it. The skin on you face is so much more delicate, it needs the care and attention. So when summer is round the corner get yourself to that drugstore and get skincare products with SPF in. Trust me, its a game changer. Don't want SPF in skincare? Then make sure your applying your SPF to your skin after your routine.

2. Changing that routine up

That's right, summers here, so why are you using them same products you were using in winter. Your skin changes with the season. For example, winter, my skin dries out, it needs added moisture. Summer? I find my skin gets slightly oily and I can find I am rocking that shiny look. This isn't what you want, you want to look glowing not greasy. You want to look your best. So if you notice that your skin is changing, listen to it. Get yourself some new products and allow your skin to look its very best. All summer round.

3. Moisturise

I have heard people say may of times that they don't need to use a moisturiser because it makes their skin oily. In reality, your just using the wrong moisturiser. You find you get oily in the summer months? Then why are you still using that thick, creamy moisturiser. You just need a lighter one. You need to cater your skincare to what your skin needs. That's right, you cant just use any old thing. So make sure you have the right moisturiser for the right time of the year.

4. Facial mists

Summer is hot, no matter where you are. This then makes your skin dry out, which is not good in anyone's books. Especially when we are aiming for glowing skin. So some people can find using a toner just doesn't help this situation. This is where facial mists come in. The are obviously in spray form, this ensures that you get a fine covering. They are also extremely cooling for the skin. So perfect for summer. They can be used anytime, even part way through the day to cool your skin down.

5. Exfoliate

Lastly I have exfoliate. This is super important. Glowing skin does not come from dry/flaky skin. So grab yourself a good exfoliator, and give your face a scrub. You exfoliate your body in the summer right? To make sure you get rid of any scaly legs. So don't forget your face, this skin is just as important.

So they are a few tips I have for summer skincare. I hope that this has helped you all in someway. If you want to check out the Dollar Shave Club, you will find their website here. Also why not check out their skincare products page, I am sure you will find something you love. You will find that here. I hope you have had an amazing bank holiday weekend. I will see you again on Wednesday.

Love
Zoe x
