Up and coming hair trends- fall/autumn edition

Hi everyone,

As a hairdresser I love knowing what people are going to be loving and wanting for the year ahead. Back in November last year I posted an up and coming hair trends post. So I thought it was only time to do a new one. Fall is my favourite time of the year, I love it. So I thought this was a good excuse to get on the internet and have a little look at what we should be loving this fall season.

I think they may say this most times of the year but this fall this is a major deal. Texture is going to be big this season. There is no need for everyone to look exactly the same or have every hair in place. So get ready with your texturising products because its all going to be about looking rough and ready.

Image: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=0ahUKEwjE_rOa6LLPAhVMsBQKHTH0BRUQjxwIAw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jerryjacobsstylist.com%2Findex.php%2Fblog%2Fmessy_texture_hair_trend_fall_winter_2012&psig=AFQjCNHXeTw8ZXqcu6gg-6tDEe8dAqi6_Q&ust=1475177915806295&cad=rjt
This one is a bit different, forget the ponytail, its all about the knots. This ranges from tidy knots to messy loops. Knots are being seen in loose ponytails turning into a knot or even on buns. Like I said, how this looks is down to you. Whether you have it in a very loose knot where your hair almost looks like it is falling out. Or maybe you would choose to go for a tight knotted bun for a sleek finish.

Image: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=0ahUKEwiKi6vI6LLPAhUG0RQKHTqWBJgQjxwIAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fexplore%2Fhair-knot%2F&bvm=bv.134052249,d.ZGg&psig=AFQjCNEiRdhBkoqfcHMHFL5nSBCOi-afzg&ust=1475178023248171&cad=rjt
This one is one of my favourites and that is waves. Yes waves are back and boy are they easy. You can achieve a waved look by using tongs or straighteners. Don't fancy using heat then sleep with damp hair in a bun or braids. When you undo it in the morning you will be left with stunning waves. Best thing about waves, imperfections are welcome. So if you want to rock them just ran my fingers through my hair and left the house waves, go for it.

Image: http://hair.allwomenstalk.com/hair-trend-beach-waves-inspos-you-must-copy-this-spring
Next we have antiques. Sounds a bit strange I know. But fall is seeing headbands and hair accessories galore with an antique feel. Think jewels and metal, with a bit of material headbands mixed in there. So don't be scared, wear your jewelled headbands with sass this season.

Image: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/177962622752186873/
Anyone who loves 20s film stars is going to love this one. The ripple is back. That's right that finger wave effect is everywhere this fall. So grab your straighteners and create yourself some ripple affects in your hair. Think old-school waves, flappers and 20s film stars. What more could you want?

Image: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/75998312434672739/
So they are a few things you need to be looking out for this fall/autumn. Personally I am excited to see the waves and cute hair accessories. Having said that I cant wait to see how people add ripple waves into their everyday. Have you heard of any different trends for this season? Let me know in the comments.

Manicure or Shellac manicure??

Hi everyone,

I have to admit getting my nails done is something I love doing. It is ok doing it yourself, but they never look the same. I also love the feeling of going and having them done, its so relaxing. Its the perfect "you" time. But when you book that well deserved nail appointment you are faced with a question. Manicure or Gel manicure? This then start tons of questions about what's the difference? What makes it better? and How much more expensive is it? So I thought today I would talk to you about why you are offered either a manicure or a gel manicure. For the purpose of this post I am using Shellac as my gel polish, as this is what are beauty therapist uses within our salon.

I know how it feels when you book an appointment and you are given these two options. Its mind boggling. But honestly the answer is all down to you. Personally when I go get my nails done I always get Shellac. Why? Because its better for the job I am in and if I am honest I just prefer it. But first let me explain to you what the difference between these two are.

A normal manicure is when the therapist will work with your cuticles and apply a normal nail polish. They may also add in extras like a hand mask. It really depends where you go and what kind of manicure you choose. A normal nail polish is like any other nail polish you can buy. The ones the therapist will use will obviously be a salon brand. What I find with normal nail polish is that I chip it very easily and with my work, I am lucky if I get one day out of wearing it. Another thing with polish is that you have to wait for it to dry. This is where I always go wrong if I paint my nails myself. I am too impatient to wait and I end up smudging them, every time. What I love about normal polish is you can change it just like that. All you need is some polish remover and your good to go.

Image: http://www.eonline.com/news/516147/what-s-your-nail-polish-personality-color-take-our-quiz-find-out
Now a gel polish is guaranteed up to two weeks, you can get more. A gel polish is when the therapist will do cuticle work and then apply the gel polish. For the polish to work the way it does your nails have to go under a lamp between each coat, this is to cure them. One thing with choosing a gel polish is that your nails are dry instantly. No faffing trying to get stuff out of your bag without putting a massive smudge on them. Also the shine is incredible. They look glossy and perfect. Things that may put you off is that once the colour is on, its on. You can remove them but this is a much longer process than with ordinary polish. It requires you soaking your nails in a special remover and then gently removing it with an orange stick. So if you are someone who changes their mind a lot gels may not be for you.

Image: http://decadentdigits.com/shellac-nails-islington/
Both services have their good and their bad points. I personally, like I said will always go for a gel polish. I mean flawless nails for up to two weeks, what more could a girl ask for? But I know its not for everyone. I adore gels because I use to bite my nails. If my beauty friend didn't get me into having gels done I wouldn't have the lovely beautiful healthy long nails I have today.

What is your opinion, are you a polish or a gel kind of girl? Let me know in the comments I would love to hear. I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I will see you all lovely readers next week.

How to cosy up your home this fall/autumn

Hi everyone,

This time of the year is my favourite, I just love fall. Every year about this time is when I start searching the internet for new fall home décor. I always find this the perfect time to start bringing in all the cosy fabrics and colours. So if you want some quick tips on making your home look all ready for the autumn keep on reading.

One of my favourite ways to create an autumn feel within the house is to add warmer colours. I love red, orange and mustard shades. It is super easy to add theses types of colours into a room. I personally only have to do my room as I still live at home. So I buy more autumnal coloured duvet sets and big fluffy or chunky blankets/throws. If you are looking to decorate other rooms in your house you can try adding throws to your sofas or autumnal coloured cushions.

Image: http://www.matalan.co.uk/homeware/seasonal-trends/rustic/s2633198/rustic-stripe-printed-reversible-duvet-set
You can also add more decorative items to your rooms. One of my favourites which always makes me think of autumn is stags. Another choice you can make is to start burning candles around the house. The warmth of the candle and the scent really make a house feel like a home. Leaving it feeling super cosy.

Image: http://www.matalan.co.uk/homeware/seasonal-trends/rustic/s2629409/orange-and-bergamot-scented-glass-jar-candle
If you are looking to do a bit of a DIY. Why not get some pine cones and make a display out of them. This is a super easy, quick and cheap way of bringing a little of autumn into your home. You can paint them autumnal colours or leave them plain. Add them to a bowl and use as an autumnal feature in one of your rooms. Or you could even cover leaves in glitter and make some super cute glittery leaf bunting.

Image: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/436778863844166486/
So as you can probably tell my next job is to get started finding some amazing things for my room. I really believe you cant beat that cosy feeling. I really do love fall as you can tell. Do you change up your décor depending on the season? If you do what fall ideas do you have? Let me know in the comments.

Cosmic Energy by Anne Jirsch review

Hi everyone,

So I am a bit of bookworm. I love a good book. A few weeks back a client of mine lent me this book which she said I would love. Its all about cosmic energy. Although this is something I wouldn't normally read, it did have me feeling curious. I have really enjoyed reading it. If you are interested about hearing more about this book, keep on reading.

This book is about all things cosmic energy. From little things like finding out what it is to using it to help you in your day to day life. This book is all sectioned into different sections. With each chapter being a different subject. Within you will find out how you can use cosmic energy to improve your love life, your financial situation, your work life and your health and wellbeing.

Anne is a psychic, tarot consultant, a metaphysical teacher and a past life regressionist and future life progressionist. Anne uses techniques throughout the book that she has used with her own personal clients. These exercises are all easy to follow and you can even keep a journal along the way. Throughout the book you will find stories Anne has enclosed about her clients. These stories are their experience before and after using their cosmic energy.

Anne believes that if you harness your cosmic energy then this will help to benefit you through your life. An example of this is that if you find your cosmic energy you can use it to help with finding your one true love. Believe me, people have actually done this. There is one exercise in the book where Anne asks you to write yourself a list of everything you want in a partner. She believes that by creating your love wish list you can manifest your dream partner. I personally haven't tried this. But what people say in her book is that it works.

The book is very well set out so you can work through the exercises as quickly or slowly as you wish. It also goes into great detail. So even though I have not used any of the techniques in this book yet I now have a wide knowledge about cosmic energy. From knowing what it is, how to find it and how I can use it to benefit me. I truly believe that after reading this book cover to cover, if you can harness your cosmic energy it will transform your life.

Anne has also written others books around similar subjects. Ones which I look forward to reading in the future. She honestly does know what she is talking about and if your not 100% sure, she is the woman to convince you. If you have any interest in these types of books or even if you fancy something new to read. I highly recommened this one.

Have you ever read any books by Anne Jirsch? Or have you read any books that are on the same or similar subject as this? If you have please let me know in the comments I would love your recommendations.

Endwarts pen review

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me by the company to review. Having said this all opinions are my own.

Hi everyone,

Another little review for you guys today. I know I have been doing lots of reviews recently but I am really enjoying writing them. If your not so keen on the whole review thing, let me know in the comments what you would like to see. I have been trailing this product for about 7 weeks now. So keep reading to see what I thought to this product and whether I thought it worked.

What is it?

The endwarts pen is a quick and easy way to get rid of warts and verruca's in seconds. Its literally that quick. This pen can be used on hands, feet, elbows and knees.

How does it work?

The pen contains a formic acid solution. This solution then penetrates the wart causing it to dry out. The result of this is that the body then rejects the wart. The best part of this is that no viruses can survive in this solution, so it can be used by the whole family. One pen does all.

How to use it?

You just need to apply it to the area and avoid the skin around the wart. Hold it on the wart for 1 second. Repeat this process. This should be done once a week.

Likes?

This is a super easy application and there is no mess. Honestly the pen does all the magic. This pen contains enough of the acid formula to do approximately 30 treatments. So that gives you plenty of time to get rid of that pesky wart. It has actually made a difference, I know that sounds a bit mad but I have tried others and there has been no result. I have noticed the decrease in size and the pain that I had beforehand is completely gone. With it being in a pen form it makes it really easy to apply.

Dislikes?

The only thing I would say with this is that the smell of it is quite strong. But this is because its an acid. The more you use it the less you notice it.

Where to buy?

To find out where to buy this pen you can visit endwarts website. You will find that here.

So that is my review of the Endwarts pen. I hope that you have enjoyed this post. Also have you ever tried this? If so how did you find it? I hope you all had a very lovely weekend and I will see you next week.

L'Oreal Paris glam bronze cushion de soleil review

Hi everyone,

I know this post is a day late and for that, I am sorry. But on a more cheery note, I have another product to review for you. Today its a bronzer and oh my god, this is my new favourite. Girls trust me this is the bronzer you need in your life. We are talking 5 star bronzer. So keep reading if you want to know all the low down on this product.

What is it?

This is a cushion drenched in a lightweight tanning formula. Its finish is a fresh glow. Giving you the perfect summer glow all year round.

How does it work?

To use this you need to decide if you want a natural dewy glow or a sunkissed tan. Depending how much you wish to build the colour up depends on how many taps you do.

Likes?

This product has an amazing colour, honestly its like nothing I have ever used before. The colour also blends out incredibly well. I normally just apply this to where I normally use contour and then I blend it in with a bronzer brush. Just like the foundation I reviewed last week, this is in super easy packaging. With the handy mirror, it comes in as the perfect compact wherever you are. It is so easy to apply, it goes on like a dream. This one also has a really good scent to it. It's scent is a bit like a holiday smell. If you know what I mean.

Dislikes?

The only dislike I have about this is that I think it only comes in one shade. This is not a problem but I do find if I apply to much, it becomes hard to blend. No one wants to look like they over done it with the bronzer. So this may not be for extremely pale people.

Where to buy?

You can by this from boots and it is £14.99. You can find it here.

So that is my quick review of the L'Oreal Paris glam bronze cushion de soleil. I hope that you enjoyed this post. If you do like the sounds of this bronzer I do highly recommend you try it. I will be back tomorrow with another blog post.

My perfect brunch

Hi everyone,

I have never held a brunch, but I would love too. When I heard about Paperless Post's brunch campaign, I had to participate. I cant think of nothing more amazing than having all my friends over and hosting a brunch. So any friends that are reading this, hint hint. But seriously think how fun it would be to have everyone around. So I thought today I would share with you what my perfect brunch would look like. Everything from the food and drink to the décor and invites. To create my perfect brunch I went on to pinterest to gain inspiration.

Menu:

Drinks:
- Mimosa: A mixture of champagne and orange juice.
- Fruit juices.
- Tea and coffee.
- Water.
- Lemonade.
- Ice tea.

- Fresh fruit.
- Croissants.
- Pains au chocolat.
- Breakfast muffins.
- Cinnamon rolls.
- Bagels: Cream cheese and smoked salmon, Scrambled egg and bacon, Ham and cheddar club (cheese, ham, lettuce, tomato, mayo).
- Toast.
- Cereals.
- Strawberries filled with cream.
- Cheese board.
- Carrot cake.
- Jams.
- Butter.

Décor:

The décor I would go with for my brunch would be a shabby chic feel. Hoping that the weather would be good, it would be held outside. With the table being dressing with a beautiful white table cloth, fresh flowers, champagne glasses and tea cups and saucers. To add to the shabby chic feel I would also have ultra cute tea pots on the table. Cakes and pastries would be displayed on cake stands so that you could help yourself. The last thing my super cute brunch needs is kilner jar drinks dispensers to hold the juices and lemonade. Which you would be able to pour into mason jar glasses with straws in them.

Invitations are a big deal. Its what gives the person an idea of what to expect before they get there. Its the first important piece of the brunch. So don't get it wrong. I love these navy blue and white ones with cute pink flowers and gold detailing. With the title "Brunch and Bubbly", what more could make you want to come. You could also check out the invitations at Paperless Post, they do an amazing selection. You can find them here.

Image: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/436778863844239349/
I love the whole idea of throwing a brunch. So all my friend that are reading beware this could be happening. Have you ever had a brunch for a group of your friends or family? Let me know in the comments. I hope you are having an awesome week.

Why waxing?

Hi everyone,

I am a waxer not a shaver. This doesn't bother me, I don't mind what people think. But I have found a lot of people turn to shaving because it "easier". The truth is, this just isn't true. Waxing is just as easy as shaving and the result, is 10 times better. So I thought today I would give you my insight into what waxing is and why you could benefit from it.

What is waxing?

This is for all you waxing newbies out there. Your not the only ones. When I first started having waxing done I had no idea what to expect. I had done waxing briefly myself at college. So I had spent a couple of years doing my legs myself on and off over this time. Then it got to the time that I started my job and I thought hey why not give it a go with our beauty therapist. I had no idea of what to expect as I had never experienced waxing in a salon environment.

So getting down to what waxing is. This is where you have hot wax applied to an area where there is unwanted hair. Next a wax strip is applied over the top of the wax and the wax is ripped off. Bare in mind a wax strip is not always used. Some waxes you leave and then pull the wax itself, without a strip. If you don't want to go to a salon to have it done you can purchase wax strips that already have the wax on. Which you just apply to the area and then rip off.

What can you get waxed?

Waxing is an amazing thing as almost anywhere can be waxed. Some places you can get waxed includes:
- Legs
- Back
- Chest
- Arms
- Bikini line
- Underarms
- Eyebrows
- Face
- Lip
- Chin

Different salons offer different treatments. Some salons even offer more intimate waxing.

My eyebrows 1 week after being waxed
How long have I been waxing for?

When I was at high school I went to college two days a week to do a hair and beauty course. So I started to wax myself on and off at home. Then in my second year of college I started my job and I decided it was time to start getting waxed professionally. Five years later I am still at. When I first started getting waxed I started with my eyebrows and lip. From then on I gradually built up having different places waxed as well.

What do I get waxed and how often do I get it done?

I have a full leg wax, bikini line wax, underarm wax and an eyebrows and lip wax. I have all of these done every four weeks. Sometimes five if I cant make four.

Benefits of waxing?

- It pulls the hair right from the root. So when the hair grows back it is finer and grows at a much slower rate.
- It leaves your skin feeling and looking incredibly smooth for weeks.
- You only have to bother with hair removal every four weeks or so.
- You will never have to shave again.
- You don't get any rashes that you can get when you shave.
- I personally don't find that it is painful at all. The only place I do find it is tender is my eyebrows and lip.
- Hair will not grow back before 2-8 weeks. This depends on how long you have been doing it.

Disadvantages of waxing?

There really isn't any. The only thing I can think of is that you shouldn't shave between waxing sessions. So you get a little bit hairy, but trust me its worth it.

My top tip?

Do not shave between waxing. This will only ruin all the work that has gone into growing and waxing the hair that was previously there. I have been having my legs waxed professionally for around 5 years now and I haven't shaved them once in all that time. Now, when four weeks comes around the hair on my legs is patchy, fine and barely there. When I had them waxed last time it had been 6 weeks. The amount of hair on my legs I would compare to maybe a week without shaving them. That's how good it is.

My legs 1 week after being waxed
So that's my post about why I think you should give waxing a go. Honestly, it takes time to build it up to having barely any hair there when it does grow back. But having said this you notice the different after the first session. Are you a shaver or a waxer? Let me know in the comments. Also what are your views on waxing?

Lisap ultimate oil plus review

Hi everyone,

As I am writing this it is currently 8pm Thursday evening and I am tucked up in bed writing this while eating biscuits. I know, exciting right? But I love this, I love what I do. Most importantly I love reviewing products I have been trying. So as promised today is your second review of the week. This is a good one. On Wednesday I reviewed a drugstore product for you. But being a hairdresser I come across an array of different products. So I thought I would review a salon based product today. If you can manage to get your hands on this oil it is so worth it. I love this 100%. If you want to find out why, keep reading.

What is it?

This oil is a moisturising anti frizz hair oil. Which let face it, is a winning combination.

What is it for?

This is no ordinary oil this is a keratin oil. Which is enriched with argan oil to create silky and shiny hair. It also contains anti frizz technology to help boost hairs quality, maintains hydration levels and beautiful condition.

How can you use this?

This oil comes in a spray bottle and can be applied to hair when it is damp to create shine and comb ability. You can also use it on dry hair to make styles look glossier for longer. This is the ideal product to use if you straighten your hair.

Likes?

I love the fact that this oil is super light. Some hair oils I have used in the past have been super thick and I personally find that this weighs my hair down more than benefit it. This oil is also mega easy to use with no mess. I have used other oils which come in pumps. So that you have to pump them onto your hand and this just seems to get everywhere. As there is always some left on your hand once you have applied it. The scent of this product is always a massive discussion among clients and stylists. It smells incredible. I personally think it smells of sweets but others have said they think its watermelon. We have heard so many different suggestions but the truth is we don't even know what the scent of this is. What we do know is, we love it and the clients adore it.

Dislikes?

I only have one dislike and its not really a dislike. As this is a salon product it is priced more on the higher end of the scale. So someone who's looking for a cheap purchase this may not be for you. Having said this, if you can justify the price, I highly recommend it. I really do think it is worth the price you pay for it. Trust me I would of never got it if I didn't.

Where to buy and price?

You can buy this from salons/hairdressers that retail this products. It retails at around £12.00. Having said this you may find somewhere online where you can purchase this for cheaper.

So that is my little review on the Lisap ultimate oil plus. As you can tell I really love this product. My hair has been in such better condition since I have been using it. What is your go to hair oil? Let me know in the comments.

L'oreal paris nude magique cushion foundation review

Hi everyone,

Another week, another product review. I love reviewing products, that why this week I am gracing you with two. One today and another on Friday. This foundation when I saw it in boots just intrigued me so much, I knew I had to try it. It is like no other foundation on the market, which makes it fun to write about. So if you are interested in how this "cushion" technology works, keep on reading.

What is it?

This L'Oreal foundation is the 1st cushion drenched in liquid foundation on the market. It aims to result in the ultimate fresh nude finish. Sounds good doesn't it? Well its also available in an amazing 7 shades.

How does it work?

This is a very good question. Within this cute compact you get a sponge applicator. You then "tap" this onto the cushion to collect product. One tap is a light/sheer luminous finish. Several taps, then enables you to build up the coverage to a medium coverage. I personally, am a serial tapper.

Likes?

I do really like this product. The colour match is perfect, I use it in the shade 01 Porcelain. It blends incredibly well into my neck, making sure I am not left with that tell tale line. The application of this product could not be any easier. I think this would be a really good product for people just starting out. As you really have to work to build up the coverage. Also unlike most foundations that come in a bottle this one is in a super cute compact. Which includes the sponge and a nice sized mirror, all in one place. Lastly I just love the idea of the cushion. Going back to talking about people who are just starting out with makeup, the cushion makes it super easy. You cant over apply the product, or I haven't found you can. With the cushion you can choose how much you want to build up your coverage. Do you want it sheer and glowy or do you want a medium coverage? Its all down to you.

Dislikes?

Believe it or not I do have a couple of dislikes, but nothing major. I personally find it hard to build up the coverage. They say that it has a medium coverage, but to me it doesn't seem to have that much coverage. I do suffer with acne. So baring this in mind I do struggle to cover my blemishes. I normally have to put a really high coverage concealer underneath. As this is a dewy finish foundation don't expect it to last all day. I certainly cant get it to. But I will be honest I find it hard to get any foundation to last on my skin while I am at work as the salon is so hot. By the end of the day what ever you put on in the morning has pretty much melted off your face.

Where to buy and price?

Boots- £14.99

So that is my review for the L'Oreal Paris nude magique cushion foundation. I have really loved trying this product out and I will keep using it. This will definitely be something I would repurchase in the future. Have you tried this foundation? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments.

August favourites

Hi everyone,

August was an interesting month. I went away for a week, made new purchases and I also done my back in. So this months food is not as healthy as normal, by this I mean no sign of healthiness anywhere. After I done my back in it left me feeling quite low, so I will be honest, a bit of comfort eating kicked in. But I am hoping that once I have paid a visit to the physio in a weeks time I will be able to kick start back into routine as normal. Obviously I didn't let this get in my way with buying some new bits and bobs to try. This month I would say look forward to seeing some old flames, new loves and pastries galore.

Hair:

- Batiste dry shampoo for blondes

You will recognise this from my July favourites, that shows what an impression this made on me. I will be honest this is my second tin, crazy right. But I go through this like no tomorrow. This is super nice and blends into my colour really well, even when I have roots coming through.

- TRESemme moisture shampoo and conditioner

Yes I know these bottles are massive but they last me ages. I really love this shampoo. I use to use it a while back and I then had a little break from using it. I then found these under my sink and thought I would give them a go again. I love the way this leaves my hair feeling. Its guaranteed to leave me with silky soft hair, which is a must when I colour it blonde.

Beauty:

- Nivea protect and bronze sun cream factor 50

I am fully aware that this bottle is all in Spanish, but I got it while I was away. I love this sun cream. It is a tan activating one, which as someone who loves a tan, is amazing. This applies really well and doesn't leave you feeling sticky. I understand that a factor 50 is extremely high. But although I love the sun and sitting in it, the fact is I burn quite well if I don't use a 50. Which is what happened in Menorca when I attempted to use a factor 20. This is one thing that wont be happening again.

- Eden's Semilla Jojoba oil

You may recognise this product from a previous blog post where I reviewed this product. You can find that here. I wanted to add this to my favourites because for the pure fact that I used it for all of July and to be honest, fell in love with it. I wont rave on about it here, but it made my skin feel incredible and look amazing. If you want a full description of this product check out my review.

Food:

- Pastries including croissants and pain au chocolat

This was one of my go to breakfasts while I was away. As someone who intends to live life as healthy as I possibly can, pastries don't really come in contact with me very much. But when your on holiday why not. Having said this my love for pastries did manage to make it home with me as my mum thought it would be a good idea to buy them when we got back. I love croissants. The flakiness of the pastries to the buttery taste. For pain au chocolat, well its got chocolate in it, what's not to love.

Other:

- Cosmic Energy by Anne Jirsch

You probably do keep seeing this book pop up, but I am so enjoying it. It is not my usual read but a client lent it to me and said I would love it. She was right this book is incredible. Lets face it Anne is a genius and the work she has achieved is so inspiring. The activities in this book can be done by anyone as long as your in the right place. I am planning on reviewing this book for you, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

- Fitbit flex

I just had to get one fitness crazy thing in here and that's where my Fitbit comes in. I love it. I honestly now don't go anywhere without wearing it. I thrive from seeing how many steps I have achieved in a day to how many hour sleep I get at night. This is a clever little band and completely worth the money. If you want to know more about the Fitbit flex you can find my review here.

So they are some of my favourites from August. I honestly cant believe that month has already gone. But we have September now, so new things to love and my favourite season is just round the corner. What was you loving in August? Let me know in the comments. I hope you had an amazing weekend.

What I got for my birthday

Hi everyone,

So on Sunday I had my birthday and I turned 20. My family were so sweet and they all got me such lovely presents. All of which are things I plan to use for as long as possible. Like most presents, I got a couple of presents that you as a reader my think slightly odd. But trust me they are all things I love. Back in December I wrote a post about what I got for Christmas and I loved writing this post. So I though as its been my birthday I would share with you what I got.

Happy Jackson water bottle:

My sister got me this because she was sick of seeing me go to work with a battered old Buxton water bottle. She couldn't of picked one that was more me. I love the Happy Jackson range, so beware you will see quite a few bits in this post. I love the colours and the quirky text on the front. Just bare in mind I only use this bottle for water not for what is labelled as.

Happy Jackson biscuit tin:

This beauty is from my mum and yes I know what you must be thinking, who the hell by someone a biscuit tin? But it is just so adorable. Yes it is currently full of biscuits but I am sure that wont last. Before we know it, it will be full to the brim with healthy snacks. Again the colours of this is so incredible. I cant wait to move out in the future and have this sitting in my kitchen.

PG Tips:

Different I know, but I love my tea. Normal tea and almond milk hits the spot every time. But having said this I am super into my herbal and fruity teas. The fruit ones in this selection include blackcurrant, lemon and ginger, camomile and lastly red berries. I am super excited to try all of these.

Happy Jackson herbal tea tin:

That's right you read it right a herbal tea tin. I mean come on how cute is this? This is currently filled with loads of my favourite herbal teas and will definitely be restocked when I have finished them. I can not explain to you how in love I am with this. The top green layer of the tin is in a matt finish and lets be honest looks incredible. This is really big as well I already have about 3ish boxes of different teas in there and there is still room.

Urban outfitters copper memo grid:

This is currently not on the wall but I am hoping to get it up very soon. So I am sure pictures will be going up on Instagram, so keep your eyes peeled. As you may know if you have been reading my blog the last few weeks. My room is partly copper themed and this is just one of my finishing touches. I am planning to have it above my dressing table and I just cant wait to see it up. Also the little clips you get with it are just as adorable.

Marc Jacobs daisy dream forever:

This is the first time I have had this one, I have tried many Marc Jacobs perfumes in the past. I fell in love with it instantly. The notes in this perfume are to die for. The top notes are blackberry, grapefruit and pear. The heart is jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria. Finally the base notes are white woods, musk's and coconut water. A combination you don't want to miss out on, trust me.

Urban outfitters copper and glass jewellery box:

This is sophistication to the max. I don't think I have ever owned something so beautiful and delicate. This is a full glass jewellery box with a mirrored bottom on it. Then finished off with a copper rim and sectioning. It is truly stunning. Please excuse the masses of stuff in here I just popped it all in there. I am planning to reorganise my jewellery at some point.

Aloe Vera plant:

I have right from the start of redoing my room wanted some form of plant. I had mainly been looking at cactuses and succulents. Then one day, close to my birthday me and Nicole were in Tesco and saw this aloe Vera plant. I loved it from the moment I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for my room. Few days later Nicole comes home with an early birthday present for me. I just have to try not kill it now.

Anklets:

Every year that I go away I purchase an anklet. I just love them and I wear them all year round. So this year I got myself a turquoise one with gems in it. It so lovely and summery. Nicole then picked up these two for me. The first one being extremely bright but that's how I like them. I love the trinkets on this one. Then she also got me this delicate black and gold one. Which I just cant wait to wear. It is so simple yet will look so stunning.

Dish:

I had been looking for ages before we went away for a trinket dish that I could have on my dressing table. I only wanted something simple but eye catching. Then while we were away we were browsing round the nick knack shops and Nicole pointed this out. Its perfect. The terracotta against the pink is something really special. It is just the right size and looks perfect placed on my dressing table.

Happy Jackson mug:

This is another one from Nicole, now I told you I love tea. Well this mug proves it. I love this mug so much the stripes are super cute and I can see myself drinking out of this in years to come. I also love the little message in the bottom of the mug. If you gave this to a guest they would never expect it.

So that's what I got for my birthday. I was well and truly spoilt this year and I really do appreciate everything. Did you have a good bank holiday weekend? What was you up to? Let me know in the comments.
