June favourites

Hi everyone,
Yes that's right its time for a monthly favourites. If you are new to my blog let me fill you in. I write every month on the first Sunday my monthly favourites of the previous month. My mum actually got married this weekend, so that is why my post is late because I just ran out of time to finish it. I love writing this post every month because there is nothing better than sitting at my laptop thinking about things I love and just chatting to you guys about them. I mean that is what we do best isn't it? This month is an interesting one, full of new things, old favourites and new addictions. So grab a cup of tea and have a read of what wonderful stuff I was loving in June.
Hair:
1. Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler

If you follow me on twitter or Instagram you would of seen some very interesting pictures of me rocking some corkscrew curls. As being a hairdresser I love trying new things and when I saw this wand it was no exception. It is ultra thin, I mean pencil thin. The effect this gives is insane. Sorry but that is the only way I can actually describe it. The curls also last for a crazy amount of time. I used it for my mums wedding this weekend. I curled my hair the night before, put no products on it and just went to bed as normal. The curls were still perfect in the morning. I know nothing is perfect but trust me these curls really are. Some people may find them way to tight but I just cant get enough.
2. John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Shampoo
Well this is an old friend, talk about a blast from the past. I don't think I have spoke about this shampoo for quite a while now. Don't worry I have been using on and off the whole time. I still love it as much as the first day I ever used it. Throughout June I was working to get my blonde back and say goodbye to the pink. As always when going back to my beautiful blonde hair I needed my purple shampoo back out. This really helped to keep my blonde looking fresh and bright. Anyone who has read my previous blog posts about this shampoo knows that I can not praise it enough. It really does just do the job.

Beauty:

3. Bareminerals Ready SPF 20 Foundation- R170

I have been using this foundation for I would say maybe 2ish years. I find it is really good for my skin. I tend to switch between this foundation, which is powder, and a liquid one. But recently I have found my skin has been a bit itchy and I just wanted a bit more of a higher coverage. This applies really nicely, I just use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone who suffers with extremely bad dry skin. As this being a powder, will stick itself to it and can make it look worse. Only thing I will say is as this is a bit on the pricier side, I would recommend you go and get a colour match. So you know you are definitely getting the right one.

4. Maybelline Super Stay 24H Waterproof Powder- 010 Ivory

As always you know I like to be honest to you all. When I first got this a while back, I didn't really like it. I don't know what it was, it just didn't tickle my fancy. So a couple of months ago I ran out of my Bareminerals powder, so I started using my Rimmel powder. I then finished that up and this was the only one I had left so I though I would give it another go. I have to say I do really like it now the coverage is really nice, its a bit heavier. But at the moment I am quite liking that. The colour is a perfect match. I cant say this is waterproof because when I do get wet coming home from work recently, its been extremely heavy rain. So all my makeup is kind of gone by the time I find somewhere dry. Having said this normally I do find this lasts very well on my skin, which is helpful as I don't really get time to keep checking if I am going shiny.

5. Smashbox Shape Matters Palette

You may remember this palette from a blog post I wrote a while back where I reviewed it. If you haven't seen it you can find that here. Recently I have got back in to using it. I have really been loving using the brow powder in "Taupe", the bronzer in "Bronze", the highlight in "Glow" and the eye shadows in "Vanilla" and "Stripped". All of these are lovely consistency and blend out really well. I have been trying to make a metal note to remember to try and contour and highlight, just to mix my make-up look up a bit. Do you like Smashbox? What products do you like? Let me know in the comments.

Food:

6. Whitworth Shots

Now as some of you may know if you have been reading my blog for a while now. I am really into healthy eating. So for one of my snacks in the day I was taking a pot with dried fruit in, then I found these little beauties. These are a little packet of fruit with a little bit of chocolate in there too. They are so nice and they are really convenient for work. As I can just chuck them in the bottom of my bag.

7. Tesco Salt and Vinegar Rice Cakes

These have been another snack I have been having. These are just so yummy. I know you see rice cakes then you see salt and vinegar and they sound gross. But trust me they are so worth trying. Something I love about these is they don't skimp with the flavour, these are full of taste. So if you are looking for something to munch on these are what you are looking for.

Peanut Butter

Oh my god peanut butter is my new obsession. I bake with it, I put in in shakes/smoothies and I put it into my food. I always thought I would hate peanut butter but then I tried it. Yes I have to admit there has been times when I have eaten a little bit out of the jar. But who wouldn't? I personally cant get enough. So if you have any recipes that have peanut butter in them, please leave them in the comments for me.

Other:

Pretty Little Liars

Wow if you haven't seen this, you need to. I know I am late to the game but I only got Netflix in June. This programme is insane, I am only on season 2. Yet once I have been watching it, its all I can think about. This has to be one of the most gripping programmes I have watched in a while. I will tell you a little bit about it. It is about a group of girls who's friend goes missing they then start to receive messages from someone called "A". This person gets them to do crazy things and in general turns their lives upside down. This is totally one to watch, me and my sister are loving it. So grab a blanket and a big bowl of popcorn and get started if you haven't already.

Tesco Bikinis

I have a holiday coming up in August and as I have done so well with losing some weight and changing my lifestyle and body. I thought I would treat myself to some new bikinis. These three above are all from Tesco and as you can tell I love the bright ones. I thought these would look really good once I have a tan and they are going to make me look really brown. What caught my eye about these ones was the different panels of colours on them. I think it just makes them look really awesome. I just cant wait to go away now and get a chance to wear them.

Netflix

So as I mentioned above, in June I got Netflix and boy is it worth it. I pay £5.99 a month and there is so much on there. A friend convinced me to get it and I finally buckled and tried a free trial. I was so surprised to see how much was on there. I have managed to watch so much in the short time I have had it. I also have an ever growing list of others I do want to watch. If you haven't tried Netflix, which I am sure you have, as again I was late to the game. I totally recommend it.

So they are my June favourites, pretty exciting if you ask me. What was you loving in June? Have you tried anything I mentioned? Also any recommendations for Netflix? Let me know in the comments. I hope you all had an awesome weekend.

Love
