My favourite author

Hi everyone,

I have always loved reading, right from a small age. I still own most of the books I use to read when I was younger. I have two bookcases in my bedroom full of books and theres still not enough room. As most people, who enjoy reading, I have lots of authors I like to read but I do have a favourite. Mine would be the wonderful John Green. I do think that my love of reading is what encouraged me even more to start my blog. When I first ever read one of John Greens books I knew from that moment on I was going to fall in love with his writing and I did just that.

Just incase you dont know who John Green is let me just say he is the incredible mind behind "The fault in our stars". If you thought the movie was good, I highly recommend you read the book. It will pull at every heartstring you have. Now let me give you a bit about John. He is an american author of young adult fiction. He is best known for the incredible novels he has written. These include "Looking for Alaska", "The fault in our stars" and "Paper towns". Two of his books were both made into outstanding films, which have been loved by many. As well as writing John can be recognised from his YouTube channel he does with his brother, called VlogBrothers. He has also launched events such a VidCon.

Where did I hear about him and what makes his books so special?

I first heared about John from YouTube, believe it or not. I had watched so many videos with different YouTubers talking about "The fault in our stars". It sounded amazing and as someone who loves to read I just knew I had to give it a go. Thats where it all began.  From that moment on I fell in love with the way John writes. His books are unlike anything I have ever read before. They have me gripped from page one to the very last page in the book. The first book I read was "The fault in our stars". I had actually purchased it to take on holiday. If I remember rightly I finished the book within four days of our holiday. As soon as I had finished I just knew I had to read some of his other work. So there I am on holiday in Yorkshire and I am standing in WHSmiths. I then left with three more of his books, I just couldnt resist. I cant even tell you which one of his books is my favourite. They are all so different and all written to the point where you physically cant pick. I have not yet read one of his books and thought "yer it was ok". I even got my sister reading them and she said exactly the same.

Which books do I own?

- The fault in our stars

- Paper towns

- An abundance of Kathrine's

- Will Grayson, Will Grayson

- Looking for Alaska

- Let it snow

I have not yet read "Looking for Alaska" or "Let it snow". But I am so excited to give these two a go. As I said before they are all very different stories. But they do all have you gripped from page one. I cant wait to see what I think of the two I havent read. I also own both films on DVD. Again I cant rank whether I like "The fault in our stars" or "Paper towns" better, even though they are films. One thing I will say is that they both stick to the storyline from the books. Which in my experience of films made from books, this isnt always the case.

Overall I highly recommended John Green to anyone who is a lover of books out there. I am still to find another author who writes like John, maybe I will one day, maybe I wont. Who is your favourite author? Let me know in the comments. Also is there anyone you recommend? As I am always on the hunt for new authors to try. Also let me know in the comments what your all time favoirite book is, be that a current one or a childhood favourite. If you want to see all the books John Green has written you can find them here. I hope your all enjoying the start of your week.

Love
