Beauty myth's we all believe

Hi everyone,
Happy Easter!!

This week's post is not Easter related but I think you will like it. At the end of February I wrote a post called "Hair myth's we all believe". If you haven't seen it you can check it out here. So I thought I would give you some beauty myth's today. Just like the last time I have 5 myth's, which I think you will be glad to find out are false. So here we go.

1. "Expensive cosmetic's are better then inexpensive":
This one is so hard to believe it's false, but it's true. A product may have a massive price tag on it but it doesn't make it any better than a cheaper product. It all come's down to the formulation of the product. If the formula doesn't work for your skin then it's no good, no matter how much it cost. So next time your thinking about purchasing that really expensive product you love. Remember there is probably a drugstore product that is very similar and work's just as well for your skin, if not better.

2. "Blackhead's relate to cleanliness and can be scrubbed away":
This is wrong on so many level's. Ok let's start with the first part of this myth. Blackhead's do not mean that you are not clean, that is just rubbish. I am about to get deep. Blackhead's are caused by sebum (oil) in the skin which is being over produced. This then gets trapped under the layer's of dead skin. When the oil start's to surface under the skin it turn's black. Causing the blackhead. So next part is scrubbing, they can't just be scrubbed away it doesn't work like that. A normal facial scrub will take away the dead skin cell's. This type of scrub can't get deep enough to remove the blackhead's. A scrub that contains salicylic acid on the other hand exfoliates deeper and can help to remove blackhead's.

3. "Moisturiser's applied at night must be labelled as "night cream":
I can't even tell you how many time's I have heard this. The truth is the only difference between day and night cream's is that day cream's contain sun protection. I personally use the same moisturiser for the day and night, and that work's for me. So you don't need to go splash out on two moisturiser's, one will be just fine.

4. "Shaving will make your body hair grow thicker":
Again I completely understand why you would think this was true. I know I use too when I use to shave, I now wax. When you shave and your hair grows back it is obviously shorter and more stubbly. This creates the elusion that the hair is thicker between shaving. But honestly don't worry it's not, it's the same as normal just shorter.

5. "Filing your nail's can be done in any direction":
You should always file your nail's in one direction. I can't stress that enough. Filing your nail in one direction promotes nail growth and longer nail's. Which come on all you ladies out there, that is what we want. If you file your nail's in both direction's it causes them to break and peel. So please don't do this.
Picture: http://health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/nail-care/tips/how-often-file-nails.htm
So there are 5 beauty myth's. Did you know any of them? Do you know any other myth's that I haven't mentioned? Let me know in the comment's. I hope that you all had a fabulous long weekend. Leave me a comment telling me what you got up to. See you next week.

New Look and Pink Boutique haul

Hi everyone,
For today's post I thought I would talk about a few item's I purchased recently online. I love all these item's and can't wait to get load's more use out of them. I personally love reading and watching haul's online, they are one of my favourite's. Now this is only a small haul as I haven't ordered much recently, but it is only my first. So let's have a look at what I recently purchased.

- New Look blue skinny jean's- size 10- £7.99:
These jean's are awesome for everyday wear, for when you just need something basic to chuck on. The colour is a lovely dark blue, which I tend to never go for. But I thought I would give these a go as I wanted to try out a pair of darker one's. It was so worth going out of my comfort zone because I love them. These jean's are very comfortable as they are not skinny skinny jean's. So they are perfect to wear on an everyday basis. With a price tag of £7.99, you can't say no to this wardrobe essential.

- New Look Parisian blue ripped knee skinny jean's- size 10- £24.99:
These one's do have a higher price tag but they are so worth it. These jean's are super skinny and super soft. The colour is stunning, I have an obsession's with super light bleached out jean's. So these are right up my street. These are unbelievably comfortable and I love wearing them. The rip's in the knee's are so cute and I am really in to that at the minute. These are totally worth trying out and they look amazing paired with a pair of boot's.

- New Look light blue ripped skinny jean's- size 10- £24.99:
These one's are still that classic light blue just without being bleached out. This pair are a little bit less ripped and distressed but are just as cute. Again as always with New Look jean's they are so comfy. These jean's look great with just a basic T-shirt or with a shirt for going out. These can be worn during the day and then can be dressed up to follow through to evening wear.

- New Look black double ripped disco jean's- size 10- £22.99:
These are the first pair of black jean's I have ever bought. They are gorgeous and look amazing. I love the big rip's in the knee's of these one's. These are also my first pair of disco jean's and OMG I love them. Think skinny jean's then imagine them sprayed on by a can. If your looking for tight tight jean's, you have to check these one's out. I would recommend this pair of jean's to absolutely everyone.

- Pink Boutique Rebecca black suedette over the knee boot's- size 7- £35.00:
I have not actually worn these out yet, but tomorrow I am totally going to wear them. Yet I am completely and utterly in love with them. They were recommended to me by blogger Lauren from www.caylessblog.blogspot.co.uk. This blog is written by two girls and their content is amazing, so go check them out. These boot's feel incredibly soft. Also they are so easy to walk in with the perfect sized heel. Looking for a new pair of boot's? Check these out.
So here is my first ever haul. I hope that you liked it and found something you liked. I look forward to posting more fashion/clothing related post's. Is there anything in particular you would like to see me post? Let me know in the comment's.
If you are interested in what I purchased you can find them on the following websites:
Have a lovely week.

February favourites

Hi everyone,
It's that time of the month again where I look over what I was loving from the previous month. There were quite a few thing's I was loving throughout February. So today I thought I would just talk about a few of them.

Hair:
-VO5 give me texture dry texturising spray:
When I first got this product I was a bit intrigued to see if it would work. But it does what it say's on the can. It give's texture and body to your hair. To start, the packaging for this is stunning and very convenient in a 200ml can. It's great for handbag's and weekend's away. The smell of this is incredible. What I love about this spray is that it contains sea salt. But this is so different to a sea salt spray as this is a dry spray. Which make's all the difference. Overall this product offer's everything. It give's texture, adds grip (great for hair ups) and can be used to refresh hair in between washes.

-L'Oreal elvive extraordinary oil:
Now I mentioned this back in November in a post called 'My top 5 hair product's'. Which if you haven't seen can be found here. I am still loving this now as much as I did back then. I am now roughly about half way through this bottle, as it last for age's. I find that this leave's my hair feeling very lovely and soft. Being a blonde (not natural) I really have to work to care for my hair. This also protects up to temperature's of 230 degree's Celsius. Which is incredible and as I do straighten my hair most day's, this is highly needed.

Beauty:

-Carmex moisturising lip balm:
I bought this back last summer for when we went to Turkey. As I wanted something that was handy in case my lip's dried out from the heat. This has been a must have over the last month. As it is cold here in England currently and I have found my lip's have suffered. I have actually been reaching for this over my Vaseline, which I have found just wasn't cutting the mustard. I love the little tube that this come's in, it's so handy and easy to use. My lip's are starting to get a bit better now but this is a must have from now on.

- Soap and glory endless glove:
This is another product I have had for age's but only just got into it. This hand cream is super moisturising. It includes ingredient's such as macadamia and grapeseed oil's and pomegranate and Shea butter's. Which you can imagine are an incredible combination for soothing dry hand's. I can only describe the scent as very fruity. I love using this as just a normal hand cream. But if I need some extra moisture I apply a thick layer and then put on cotton gloves. I then sleep in these. This has totally helped my hand's this month as they have been very dry and have been cracking in place's.

Food:

-The groovy food company organic extra virgin coconut oil:
Over the past couple of month's I have been doing Joe Wick's Lean in 15. This has totally encouraged me to try this coconut oil and oh my god I will never stop using it. I was at first worried about using this as I didn't know if it would have a strong taste in food. This is defiantly one of the best change's I have made and it won't be changing.

-Winners protein pancakes from Lean in 15 by Joe Wicks:
I know what your thinking more Joe Wicks. But this has been my eating and exercise bible for the last couple of month's and it won't be changing. These pancake's are incredible. Firstly so easy to make. One minute your starting making them the next your eating them. Their that quick and easy. I love these plain, with yogurt or with yogurt and passion fruit. If your into working-out, these are fantastic for after a workout.

Other:

-Yankee Candle- fireside treats:
I know what you must be thinking, this girl talk's about candle's every month. I am sorry, I just can't help it. I just love them so much and own so many. This one is great if you love sweet scent's. It smell's just like marshmallow's. The scent is strong enough that you can smell it as soon as you take the lid off. Although this candle has a strong scent it is not over powering when it's burning. If you haven't smelt this candle, go give it a go I am sure you will love it.

- Tesco gym wear:
I love this gym wear so much. I purchased two set's and they are both amazing. Both are colourful and brightly coloured. Whether it be all over or in panelling. This make's me want to get up in the morning's to do my HIIT session's. All of the item's are extremely comfortable and are so easy to workout in. If you are looking for new gym wear, I totally recommend Tesco's. I know if I ever have to get anymore it will be Tesco I get it from.

- Friends box set:
I got into this year's back when I use to watch it when it was on the TV. But I had never seen all of them. Then my sister got me this box set for Christmas. I was so excited to start watching it but we were already watching another box set. We love watching box set's so when we finally got round to watch this one it was not a disappointment. I am loving this so much. We have only got to season 3, I know we have a long way to go. But I am loving what I have seen so far and can't wait to see the rest of the collection. Do you like friend's? Who is your favourite character?

So they are a few of my favourites from February. What were you loving in February? Have you tried anything I mentioned today? Let me know in the comments.
Have a wonderful week.

Love
