Halloween make-up tutorial

Hi everyone,
How are you?
It's Halloween. So here is my quick and easy make-up tutorial for a cracked porcelain doll.

To start I prep my skin with my base make-up. I applied Rimmel stay matt primer in 003. I then went on to conceal my blemishes. To do this I used the Bareminerals correcting concealer SPF20 in light 2. Finally I applied my foundation. For this I mixed two together, these were the Rimmel match perfection in 100 ivory and Bareminerals complexion rescue in vanilla 02.

Next I started to draw in the base shape of the cracked face. To do this I used a Rimmel soft kohl eyeliner pencil in 061 jet black.

Next you will need some white face paint. I used a family face painting kit from Tesco. If you have any better face paints, let me know in the comments what you recommend. You will need to fill all of the space around the section you have drawn with white, include your eyebrow and around your eye. Although avoid getting the face paint to close to the eye, as you don't want to get the paint in it. To apply this I used a real techniques pointed foundation brush. I applied about 3-4 coats of face paint but this will depend on the quality of your paints.

Once you have done that you need to add cracks that break off from the main section. To do this I used a mixture of the Rimmel soft kohl eyeliner pencil and black face paint. I applied the black face paint with the real techniques fine liner brush. You may find that you need to go over the original black lines if they have been smudged when you applied the white.

To finish the look I applied the eylure exaggerate no.140 lashes to the porcelain doll side (the white side) to give it a big doll eye. On my other eye I used the shades platinum, aubergine and blackout from the smashbox shape matters palette. I then lined my lash line with the Rimmel scandaleyes precision micro eyeliner and applied soap and glory thick and fast mascara to both top and bottom lashes. I finished by filling in my eyebrow, adding highlight to my cheekbone and using Maybelline color drama intense velvet lip pencil in 520 light it up on my lips.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did making it. As always please leave me any feedback you have in the comments.

Halloween treats

Hi everyone
This is just a little extra post for this week as its Halloween. My main blog post will be out tomorrow.
This week both me and my sister have been off work so we thought we would use the time to make some Halloween treats.

First we started by making caramel apples.
This is how we done it:
1. We started by dropping 6 green apples into boiling water. Once they had been in there for about 30 seconds we got them out with a spoon and wiped them dry with kitchen roll. This is to remove the wax from the apple.
2. We then put wooden sticks through the apples and placed them on to a tray to cool.
3. While the apples cooled down we took a tin of Carnations caramel and emptied that into a bowl.
4. Once the apples had cooled down we rolled the apples in the caramel till they were evenly covered.
5.We then sprinkled them with chocolate sprinkles and placed them back onto the tray.

Then we carved a pumpkin.
Our pumpkin design was inspired by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
1. We started by cutting the top off the pumpkin and removing the insides.
2. Next we drew on the design for the pumpkin.
3. We then cut out the design using a sharp knife.
4. To finish the pumpkin we added a tea light and lit it and placed the top back on.

I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween, whatever you do.

Introduction

Welcome to my blog,

My name is Zoe. I'm a 19 year old hair and beauty addict. I live and work in a small town in Norfolk. I am a qualified hairdresser and I work in a local hair salon.

In my spare time I love to read blogs, this has encouraged me to give it a go myself. I wanted somewhere where I could write about things I am passionate about and things that make me tick.

I wanted this to be somewhere that I could connect with people who have the same or similar passions as me.

My two big passions in life are hair and beauty, but other things I really love are baking, travelling, watching YouTube videos, shopping and much more.

I hope that you enjoy reading my blog as much as I do writing it and please put any feedback you may have in the comments box. I would love to hear from you.
