Halloween treats

Hi everyone
This is just a little extra post for this week as its Halloween. My main blog post will be out tomorrow.
This week both me and my sister have been off work so we thought we would use the time to make some Halloween treats.

First we started by making caramel apples.
This is how we done it:
1. We started by dropping 6 green apples into boiling water. Once they had been in there for about 30 seconds we got them out with a spoon and wiped them dry with kitchen roll. This is to remove the wax from the apple.
2. We then put wooden sticks through the apples and placed them on to a tray to cool.
3. While the apples cooled down we took a tin of Carnations caramel and emptied that into a bowl.
4. Once the apples had cooled down we rolled the apples in the caramel till they were evenly covered.
5.We then sprinkled them with chocolate sprinkles and placed them back onto the tray.

Then we carved a pumpkin.
Our pumpkin design was inspired by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
1. We started by cutting the top off the pumpkin and removing the insides.
2. Next we drew on the design for the pumpkin.
3. We then cut out the design using a sharp knife.
4. To finish the pumpkin we added a tea light and lit it and placed the top back on.

I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween, whatever you do.
Tweet me @zoe_cockell pictures of you Halloween treats you have made. I would love to see them.
Love
