Growing up we always use to play board games and card games. I think most families did, I’m sure many of you have fond memories of playing games during your childhood. Well as an adult I still love it. We have a footstool in our living room which opens as storage, it is full of board games. One of my favourites is Disney Monopoly, what are your favourite games to play?
Recently I contacted Game Off about working with them on a piece for my blog, which they very kindly accepted. They said they would gift me their Game Off Celebrities versions, so that I could try it out and let you guys know what I think to it. So now after having a good play around with this game, I can finally share it with you and my thoughts about it.
Some of you may have not heard of Game Off before, but I know if you like card games you will definitely benefit from hearing about this game. Game off is a party game designed for everyone, the whole family. Honestly anyone can play this. It's not like normal party card games, you can expect some serious fun out of this. During the game you may find yourself doing a range of different things, be that inventing new ideas, racing, singing, building things or even dancing. The game is based off 5 categories. These are mind, body, courage, skill and luck. During the game players will take turns in participating in battles against another player. If you're in a battle with another player a card will be picked and both of you have to battle to win the card. The end game of this is the first player with one of each of the card categories, wins the game. This edition of the game is based on celebrities so each challenge on the cards are based on many well known celebrities.
My first impressions are very positive. The packaging is designed extremely well. The box it comes in is very strong and small in size, so no matter how tight you are on storage space, there is always room for this. The colours are vibrant and eye catching. I personally love the characters of the game which are found on all editions. I think they make a really eye catching appearance to the company’s design. Once opening the box you find 120 playing cards. These are made of a really thick card which makes them feel very luxury. Again really tastefully designed. One side is bordered with the colour of the category and the challenge, then the other side is a colourful logo representing which category you are playing. I am very impressed by the quality of the game, to me it shows honest hard work has gone into designing and creating this game. You also find two wooden dice. One has L and R written on it and the other is a normal dice. These are used to determine who you will be battling. When the dice have been rolled, that person is your battle partner. For example if I was to roll L 4 I would count 4 people to my left. There is also instructions included, which are very clear and easy to follow.
There is a number of occasions when you could play this. We have currently just been playing it as a family and have really enjoyed it. With being in a national lockdown currently we haven’t got to play it in the way we would normally but we are very excited for when we can see friends and family again and make this part of our nights. This game is great for adults and kids, with fun activities you will be laughing all night long. I can’t wait till we can have friends and family over, have food platters, have some wine and then get this game out and all have a great laugh. Theres so much in there that if you're not someone who would usually be silly in front of people this game really does help bring out the silly side in everyone, we have enjoyed it and can’t wait to share with our friends. All you have to do is grab a piece of paper and a pen, and trust me, you will be laughing from then on.
