L'Oreal colorista washout #aqua review

Hi everyone,

If you follow me on Instagram you would of seen I took a massive step and dyed my hair wackier than ever. So I have done the pale pink and purple but trying out aqua was a big jump from what I am use to. I saw the new L'Oreal colorista washout colours advertised and they looked too good not to try. So I wondered down to my local boots and had a browse at the range they had. They didn't have every colour from the range but they did have a decent few. I ended up picking up the Aqua, Indigo and Purple. So here is what I thought about the Aqua...

Lets start with a bit about this amazing range of colours. L'Oreal have released this range which includes 13 colours that wash out. These range from bright turquoise to pastel peach. The array of colours I honestly found incredible. As a hairdresser to see a new range launched with 13 shades to begin with shows me the company are confident its going to work. The shade of the colour depends on how long they say they last. They range from 1 week (2-3 shampoos), 2 weeks (5-10 shampoos) and 2 weeks (7-15 shampoos). These are washout colours so they do return back to the colour the hair was previous to applying the colour. These are colours with no commitment.

So why did I pick aqua? I mean, look at it. It is truly a beautiful colour. This colour works on bleached or blonde hair. This colour is super out of my comfort zone. I was so worried what the clients would think as this colour is so out there. But I can say I have had some lovers and some not so keen, its an age range thing. I was so surprised with the reactions I was getting though, the majority have been so lovely and kind. One thing I will give these colours are they are true to the colour you see on the box. I have tried other washout colours in the past and the coverage has been no where near as good as this. This is perfect. Even with the professional ones we have purchased from the wholesalers have never matched up to the quality of these. Ones I have used in the past have left me with a patchy uneven coverage. This is an even coverage all the way round.

So this bit is a bit more of the hairdresser in me coming out. But I have to say this. The consistency of this colour is amazing. It is not to runny or to thick. Others I have used have been to thick and not easy to apply. We also have some at work which are super runny, easy to apply but can be messy. The colour does look extremely dark in colour and once applied to your hair. Do not panic it does not look the colour it appears as. One thing I love about these colours is you apply it to dry hair. So you need to wash your hair the night before and then apply it to your hair while still dry. Once its on, you leave it to take for around 15-20 minutes depending on how bright you want your finished result to look like. The best thing about these colours are they fade evenly, no patchiness as it fades.

I honestly love these colours and cant wait to try all of the others in the range. What colour do you think I should do next? Let me know in the comments.

Hair transformation

Hi everyone,
So recently I took a massive plunge and dyed my hair even crazier than I ever have. I said goodbye to my beautiful ash blonde hair and said hello to my new bright aqua hair. To create this look I use the L'Oreal Colorista washout colour in #Aqua. I really hope you like this look. We left my roots as they were to give it more of a rustic/undone look. I absolutely love this, it is seriously my dream hair.

Before

Colour first applied
New aqua hair

So that is me going from beautiful blonde to adventurous aqua. Have you ever coloured your hair a crazy colour? Let me know in the comments.

My fake tan routine at the moment

Hi everyone,
I am a massive lover of fake tan and it has come to that time where I start wearing it again. It has become a weekly job for me to do. I apply my tan twice a week as I like it to be a bit more on the darker side. So I thought I would share with you the tanning routine that I am using right now.

All about the prep.....

I always start my routine on a Sunday night. The prep is the most important part of this routine, I know your thinking what about the actual tanning? Well without the prep you are heading for one patchy uneven tan. I jump in a nice warm bath and take my body scrub. I am currently using The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub. After I have scrubbed my skin I get out of the bath and dry off my skin. My next step is to apply moisturiser to any dry areas of my skin. This will be my knees, elbows, ankles and wrists. I love the St Tropez moisturiser.

Getting your glow on.....

That is my prep done and now its down to getting the tan on. I take my No7 Perfectly Bronzed Tinted Lotion In Light/Medium. I then apply this using my Velvotan The Original Tanning Mitt. I love this tan but I do find it is not dark enough for me on one coat. Applying it using this mitt makes it quick and easy and I can apply it easily to everywhere I need to. I then get into my onesie and sleep with my tan on.

The next day......

When I wake up the next morning I either jump in the bath or the shower. I wash off all my tan that is left on my skin and then pat my skin dry. After my skin is dry I then apply moisturiser and I am good to go for the rest of the day.

A couple of days later...

After a couple of days I do my routine all over again but without scrubbing my skin. I just start at applying my moisturiser. I wake up with the right shade of beautiful tan the next day.

So that is how I apply my tan. I have been loving doing this, I honestly find it so much fun. Do you fake tan? If so what do you use? Let me know in the comments.

February Favourites

Hi everyone,
Better late than never but I have had some days off from social media. But I thought before this month comes to an end I would share with you what I had been loving last month. There is a mixture of some new things and some old favourites.
Bleach London Silver Shampoo and Conditioner…
As many of you know I am a massive lover of this. Like insanely mad about it. Back in February I was donning lilac hair with purple slashes. If you follow my Instagram, you would have seen plenty of pictures. So obviously, I needed something to keep my beautiful purple hair looking fresh. This was already my go to purple shampoo and conditioner but I had only ever used it once a week to keep my blonde looking cooler toned. So, when it came to washing my hair with it three times a week I was worried it was going to dry my hair out. It done the complete opposite. My hair felt in amazing condition and looked as glossy as ever. It honestly made me love this shampoo even more than I already did. I even recommend this one to clients I have in at the salon. It’s the best purple shampoo I have used from a drugstore.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Palmarosa Facial Wash…
As the biggest Neal’s Yard Remedies fan, there is no surprise this has made it onto my favourites. This was one of the first products I ever tried from them and fell in love with it instantly. Then a few months back I was restocking up all my products as I always do a bulk buy. I saw this and thought I would give it a try again. I honestly cannot tell you how excited I am to have this back in my life. This is and will always be the most beautiful facial wash I have ever used. For one it is perfect for my skin, like perfect. The scent of this is not to everyone’s taste but for me is so soothing and leave my skin feeling and smelling clean and refreshed. This effortlessly washing away any grime or makeup from my skin leaving it already for the next step in my skincare routine.

Gok Wan Body Shimmer…
I have always been a fan of the Gok Wan body butters and this body shimmer is no let down. This is pure gold/bronze in colour and is full of shimmer as far as the eye can see. This is slightly runnier than a body butter. I would say it is the consistency of a body lotion. When applied to the skin it leaves a beautiful shimmer along your skin. This may not be for everyone as the shimmer is quite noticeable but I love it. It honestly leaves your skin feeling baby soft. I like using this when I am wearing fake tan as it gives my skin that extra sparkle to make my tan really pop.

Basic Beauty Tools Spongedry and Foundation Blender…
Well what can I say if you have seen my blog post about these you know I am in love with them. I used my foundation blender constantly throughout February. It applies my makeup perfectly and quickly. Of course you can’t have your foundation blender without your Spongedry. This trusty little thing is perfect for holding your blender and ensuring it dries evenly. I honestly couldn’t be without these two trusty things anymore. I had never used a sponge before but I know I won’t be going back to brushes that’s for sure.

Salt and Vinegar Rice Cakes…
I think I have been raving on about these for far too long. For that I’m sorry. But oh my god these are amazing. Honestly, they make the perfect snack on the go or for your lunch. With a full-on flavour they get your taste buds tingling. These are also super cheap so they are perfect. There is hardly anything to them so you can also definitely get away with having a few at a time, or all of them. Yes I am guilty of that.

Jordan’s Frusli Bars…
These are the best frusli bars I have ever had. Yes I know quite sad that I get excited over such a thing, but it’s happening. The chewiness of these is what makes them. Also the fact they are red berry which is like the best thing ever in a chewy bar. They do other flavours but I have only tried this one. I cannot leave to go to work without one of these now. I always must have one in my bag. If you like oat bars, you will love this one.

Sensations Poppadoms Lime and Coriander Chutney…
Well these are a little treat I have been loving. These poppadoms taste incredible. First you get the lime and then this amazing curry flavour. If you love curry tasting foods, you will love theses. They are so light and fluffy. So yes obviously, I have eaten a whole bag at once. I will not deny it. I even got my mum eating these so there tends to be a bag in the house most weekends when we go shopping. They are super nice to snack on if you’re feeling hungry.

Joe Wicks Workout DVD…
You all know I rave about Joe Wicks and how amazing he is. Well he just made himself even better by releasing this DVD. Throughout January I followed his live Facebook boot camp and I absolutely loved it. I was so excited for February to get here as I had promised myself I would start this DVD. I loved it the moment I started. It is fun and easy to follow. I also sweat absolute buckets. But I love it the sweatier I get the better. Anyone that adores their fitness as much as me will love this. I highly recommend you try this out.

Friends…
I am slowly working my way through the friend’s boxset. In February I started it from the beginning again as I forgot where I had got to. So most nights I would watch one disc out of a season. I absolutely love this, it is such easy watching. I think most girls out there, loves friends. It is the perfect chill programme as you can have it on in the background while you do whatever you’re doing. I am now about to start season 6 so I am slowly making my way to season 10. Though I am surprised how quickly I have watched them. The stories and what the group gets up to always has me laughing.

Asda Grey Cushion…
It’s safe to say I am addicted to Asda bedding. I got this around Christmas time and it’s become one of my favourites. It’s quite small but it looks adorable in a cluster of cushions. The back is swede and the front is a super soft short fur. As you all know I love grey so this cushion couldn’t be more suited to me. It has been on my bed constantly throughout February.

So that’s what I was absolutely loving throughout February. What was you loving? Let me know in the comments.

All about the dresses!!!

Hi everyone,

So back in July I walked down the aisle behind my mum as she set foot into her new married life. What can we say about wedding days, they are an emotional day that bring people from all around the world back together. Or in our case across England. But weddings are one of them things where family and friends from across the globe will come together for that one big day in someone’s life. Be this their first or not it is a day they will always treasure. Especially for the bride. Every girl dreams of that wedding day, the perfect wedding day. The biggest thing a girl will always look for is “THAT” wedding dress. This is what brings an ordinary girl into her wedding fantasy. When it comes to clothes for the wedding party this is a major, the dresses must be perfect. That’s not only the bride, the bridesmaids hold such an important role in making the bride feel and look her ultimate best. If their dresses are not how the bride imagined them to be, all could be ruined. These are your favourite girls standing with you in front of all your friends and family, as you make the biggest vow in your life.
Image: http://www.aislestyle.co.uk/informal-shoulder-straps-backless-tulle-beach-wedding-dress-p-7065.html
You may ask why do the dresses have to be perfect. Well to start with the bride, it’s her big day. She is standing in front of all her friends and family as she makes a vow to the love of her life. It’s a big thing. Family and friends will be staring right at you, taking in every detail of what you look like. Trust me “THAT” dress will be the talk for months. The dress has to fit you perfectly, showing off all your perfect assets. Without exposing you completely. I will always say the perfect dress will fit you like a glove and when you put it on, you will know it’s the one. You should also remember this dress is the first thing your husband to be will be seeing you in on that day. It’s a moment guaranteed to take his breath away. When it comes to the bridesmaids, you are the lucky girls this bride wants to stand aside her as she makes the biggest decision of her life. So, you really do need to look the part. I can safely tell you, after the wedding you will spend a lot of time thanking people who complement you on how you look. Like the bride this dress needs to fit you like a glove and compliment your body, no matter what body shape you are.

Image: http://www.aislestyle.co.uk/bridesmaid-dress-c-6_7.html?flt_21_118=118&flt_16_75=75
When it comes to buying them all important bridesmaid dresses you need to take your bridesmaids opinions into consideration. There is nothing worse than waking up on that big day dreading putting your dress on. It is the beautiful bride’s day, but come on girls you gotta feel good to. Think about the shape of your bridesmaids, not every dress will suit all. I can tell you that. The amount of dresses I tried on for my mum and the dress shop ladies told me just didn’t look right. Too much hip, not enough boob, makes me look bigger than I am. So, take it from me, one dress does not fit all. Take in consideration what your girlies are gonna feel comfortable in. Also, what kind of dresses do they like? Long bridesmaid dresses, short bridesmaid dresses, lacy bridesmaid dresses or any of the other a million kinds you can get. So, make sure you are hitting up your girls for feedback. Are any of the girls plus sizes? Well look into plus sized bridesmaid dresses so that they can feel as amazing as everyone else.

A wedding guest is as important as them in the wedding party. As a guest, you have been giving this wonderful opportunity to see two people take a vow to love each other for the rest of their happy lives. You get to see two lives become one in a beautiful ceremony. This is one special moment and for many friends and family tears will be shed. Getting this chance normally calls to most girls out there, that a new outfit is needed. So, you spend months before the wedding searching for wedding party dresses and special occasion dresses. Hoping to find that perfect dress. From everything from online to in store. After order and order being delivered to your work or home full of dresses. You still struggle to find that perfect dress. For many this is an outfit that will only be worn once and it has to be remembered. But you tend to find after months of searching you find that perfect dress that you know will make you feel incredibly. That is a great feeling knowing that you will look and feel amazing at this beautiful day as you join the bride and groom in a celebration of their love.

Everyone’s perfect wedding varies. Every girl has an idea of what she wants her wedding to look like. Be that the big wedding dress or the simple lacy number. Most girls from a young age plan what they want their big day to be like. Everything from the flowers, cake all the way to the venue. But the wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses are one of the most important parts to a girl’s day. Every girl should have her dream come true. That’s why finding the perfect dress is one of the most important things. Every girl should have that special day where she feels like a princess.

A great website for dresses is www.aislestyle.co.uk. They make amazing dresses for everything from weddings to special occasions. You should definitely check them out. When they asked me to write a piece on this subject and link their website I straight away. I feel instantly in love with it and said I would love to write the piece.

Like I said every girl deserves that big day and that special dress. What does your big day look like? What kind of dress would you have? Let me know in the comments,

Current candle addiction

Hi everyone,

You know I love my candles and Yankee candle being one of my favourites. Its no surprise that they have made it to be my current addiction. The one I am loving at the minute is the Yankee candle in jelly bean. I can not wait to share this with you.

I own this one in a large jar and I am so happy I got this in a large. I never want this to run out, I have been constantly burning this. Lets start with the scent of this candle. It is the most beautiful thing ever. If you love sweet smells this is your go to candle. It smells just like jelly beans, the perfect sweet scent. If you love the smell of a sweet shop you will absolutely fall in love with this. When you burn this like some other candles I have had in the past, it is not overpowering. Which means it is good for burning for long periods of time without it becoming to strong. You can still smell this after the candle has been burnt. I can always smell it for a couple of days after I have burnt it. I also find that when I forget to put the lid back on it the room still fills with the beautiful scent of the candle.

The colour of this candle is in this beautiful purple colour. It is a super girly looking candle with the brightly coloured label. This candle looks perfect in any room. My favourite places to have it is in the bedroom or the living room. But I have also used this in bathroom, makes the perfect relaxing bath.

The bliss of buying this in a large jar is that this lasts forever, literally. I have had this for ages and I have burnt it so much. Yet I have not even got half way down the jar yet. I do tend to buy my Yankee candles in a large as I just love how they look. I always use to think they were too big but once I bought my first one I fell instantly in love with it. They never look out of place and always fit into any décor you want.

What I love about the Yankee candle is they are so easy to get hold of. Whether this be that you are online or buying from a shop. There are so many places you can purchase them. One of my favourites is going to get them from garden centres as they tend to have older ones that may not be online anymore. I got this one from a local garden centre and it is a limited edition one and I had struggled to find it.

This Yankee candle honestly is a must have for any collection. What is your current favourite candle? Let me know in the comments.

Foods I have been loving

Hi everyone,

I love nothing more than my healthy foods, but I also love my unhealthy foods as well. Recently I have been trying loads of different foods so I thought I would share with you what I have been loving. Most of it is healthy foods but I do have a not so healthy version in there for me.

Sensations lime and coriander chutney poppadum's...

These were are random purchase. They were on offer in Tesco for 99p, so I really couldn't leave them there. These taste incredible. If you love curry you will love the taste of these. They are not overly spicy. I find that because they are poppadum's they are super light. I will admit I am guilty of eating a whole bag at once. But its so hard once you start and before you know it you are hitting the bottom of the bag. The lime in these is quite faint and is just there but you can definitely taste it. It is one of the first flavours you taste.

Salt and vinegar rice cakes...

I feel like you have heard me talk about these 100 times now. But I honestly love them. These are the perfect snack or to have as something to make up your lunch. I eat mine plain but you can add toppings to them. These are super strong in flavour so if you are a big salt and vinegar fan, you will fall in love with these. Super light yet super filling, making them the perfect healthy snack.

Oatcakes with a little amount of butter...

I had never had oatcakes before and I can safely tell you I love them. They make the perfect snack as they are wholemeal. Guaranteed to fill you up. I like these with a sliver of butter on them, but you can have them with any topping you like. These are super yummy and I will definitely be eating them for a long time. They are great for something to nibble on when you need something to fill a hole.

Bagels...

These have been making a super quick easy lunch for me. I absolutely adore the cheese bagels. I just have them with mayo and ham in them. Making them perfect for a quick bite to eat if I am working my lunch hour. I honestly can not get enough of these as I don't really like sandwiches.

Oranges...

I have always been a lover of fruit. But recently I have been loving the big large oranges. I have been having them as a snack. I cut them into quarters and then eat them that way. They are just so juicy and the taste is incredible. I go through phases with what fruit I am loving and this is my current favourite. Also they are super good for you.

Jordan's frusli bars...

I have been having these in red berries and they are so delicious. They are super chewy. Perfect for something to eat on the go. I would definitely say these are the best oat bars I have ever had. They are awesome for a healthy snack when you need something quickly.

So they are some of the foods I have been loving. As you can see some are healthy some not so. What foods have you been loving? Let me know in the comments.
