Hi everyone,
Good old winter is on its way to us. We all know what this means. Its time to start wrapping up. Girls and guys will be getting their hats at the ready. So for all you girlies out there who are freaking out because you want to wear a hat but don't want to face the dreaded hat hair. Lets have a chat about this.
So lets face the facts. Yes, if you wear a hat your told you will get flat hair that wont do anything. Yes you will get flat hair, I mean you are pulling a hat over your head. But never think that your hair will be unmanageable just from wearing a hat. It can be resolved when it comes to removing your hat. A simple way to do this and one of my biggest loves in life is dry shampoo. This is amazing for adding texture and body. A few sprays, work it into your hair and you can wave goodbye to flat lifeless hair. Instant fresh style just in a few sprays. Having said this though, this is your quick fix till you can get somewhere to restyle your hair back to how you want.
So another thing you want to consider when doing your hair when wearing a hat is how to avoid the dreaded hat hair. The first thing I will mention is make sure you dry your hair properly. Trust me when I say this I am being serious. If your hair is still slightly damp, you know that slight kink you get where the hat ends and your hair starts, well that wont be a kink anymore. That will be a full on bend in your hair. Also must I point out you are most likely to be wearing a hat because its cold, so your hair shouldn't be damp. Next is about how you style your hair. Now believe me when I say there are actually hat friendly hairstyles out there. Great styles to go for are things like braids, twists, low buns, low ponytails. This is because they can easily be touched up when you take your hat off. One I love to do is waves. These look super cute with a hat. But bare in mind that you want them to be fairly loose. If they are too tight you will find they are pushed out more making it look more like a crazy mass of hair. In a worse case scenario you can just take your hat off and pull your hair into a ponytail if its long enough. Instant hat hair gone.
So they are my tips on dealing with hat hair. Have you got any I didn't mention? If you have let me know them.
