2016 revisited

Hi everyone,

Its 2017 and yet another year has passed us by. So as we wave goodbye to 2016 we welcome the new beginnings in 2017. But before we start our new journey lets look back to last year. Back in January last year I wrote a blog post about my news resolutions, all the things I wanted to achieve in that year. A year has gone by and now I think it is time to share with you if I achieved what I set out to do in 2016.

So my list begins with clean my makeup brushes everyday. Ok so the start of the year started well and yes I did actually manage to do this. But as the year went on I got more slack. I have found from trying this that the best way for me is to clean them once a week. If they do get really bad and I need one to be clean I will just spot clean it when I need it. I can safely say I will be cleaning them once a week from now on.

Next up was eat more healthy. I can safely say I smashed this one. Yes I do still eat things that aren't good for me, like chocolate, but who doesn't. I love healthy foods and I am willing to try most of them. Over 2016 I bought and tried foods I thought I never would. Some I liked and some I didn't. But that is all part of my journey. I am excited to keep this up for years to come, now I have started I never want to stop.

Alongside of eating healthy was drink more water. This one was super important to me because it is so good for you. Yes it is a cold clear liquid but its insanely good for you. You should aim to drink 2-4 litres a day. This is what I set myself as my target because if your going to do it, do it right. When you are working out you need to make sure you drink plenty of water through the day. So this definitely was something I had to get into doing and it helped me to ensure I was drinking my 4 litres a day.

So forth on my list was do more exercise. I can say I nailed this one. I bought Joe Wicks books and got stuck in. All my workouts and food came from there. I loved it from the moment I started. I would easily describe myself as a bit of a fitness freak. I started getting up early so I could do my workouts before work and we are talking about 6.15 am. This was so hard for me to start with because I am not a morning person, but surprisingly I actually became one. Then later in the year I done my back in and had to stop. I gave myself the rest of the year off and it has healed nicely. I have restarted working out now the new year has started and it will be something I do for many many years to come.

One thing I was 100% sure I would do in 2016 was pass my driving test. Did I succeed? Yes I did. It took me five attempt, yes five, but I done it. Also in 2016 I bought my first car, which is my one love in life. It was a massive incentive for me too pass. Because not everyone buys their dream car as their first. But I saved hard and in February 2016 my mini was sitting on the drive. A word of advice to anyone learning to drive, don't give up. I wanted to literally all the time. Now here I am a free independent young woman, the world is now my oyster.

Sixth on the list was get a group of followers on my blog. I think I can say I have achieved this. My blog posts have a good amount of views, which is incredible. For instance my From tourists to girls night out, has had over 400 views. For that I can only thank you. I hope that you all continue to read my blog and enjoy it as much as i enjoy writing it.

My next goal was to start YouTube. This one if I am honest did not think I would actually achieve. I was far to nervous to start. Then one day i was editing a video to go onto my blog and it was too large to put on. My only options was to either to get rid of it or put it on YouTube. After 4 hours of solid editing, getting rid of it was not an option. So there began my channel. I love doing it, its so much fun. If there is anything you want to see me do let me know in the comments. You can find my channel here.

The last two i am going to write about together as they are both still a work in progress. These are live everyday like its my last and say yes more. They are both still a work in progress because I can not say I have done them. They will take time. I really struggle to say yes. When it comes to living everyday like my last, this one is super hard for me as I would say I could do more with my life but I am happy. I will definitely continue these throughout 2017 and see if I can make them happen.

So that was 2016, I think I done pretty well. But now it is time to let go of the old and bring in the new. 2017 is going to be full of new goals I want to achieve. I will be sharing them with you later in the week. Until then I hope your all having an awesome start to 2017.

Love
