Decorating ideas for halloween

Hi everyone,

So its coming up to that time of the year where everyone starts decorating their homes for the spooky season. That's Halloween. Personally I am not a massive fan of Halloween but I love looking at decoration ideas. They all look amazing and you can be very creative with it. So I thought today I would share with you some of the things I would do if I was decorating for Halloween. So lets get on with it.

First I would start with a Halloween sweet bowl. These can be picked up from anywhere around this time of year. They are perfect for holding all them sweets you have for the trick or treaters. They can also look super cool if you are holding a Halloween party. You can them use them to hold any party food or snacks in. Also these would be amazing if you held a Halloween movie night. They would make the perfect bowl to hold all that amazing popcorn.

Picture: https://www.babble.com/home/sweet-20-spooktacular-halloween-candy-bowls/
Next you need your house to look spooky and inviting to the trick or treaters. So now its time to think about what you could put up in your windows or on the front of the house. I recently had a look in Tesco at their Halloween range. They have some amazing decorations you could use. A good one to start with is spider webs and spiders. Put these in your windows and around your door to give it the creepy factor. Another one that is perfect for the front of the house and front garden is caution tape. Use it round your door or put it in your garden and create you own crime scene. I also noticed they were doing balloons that have ghost faces on that light up. These would be amazing in your windows because once it starts to get dark this is the decoration that's still going to draw people in. Also the younger children will love these.

Picture: http://www.partysuperstores.co.uk/section.php?n=2008004
I have noticed this year everyone is doing Halloween themed fairy lights. As regular readers will know, I love fairy lights. I have them in my room, I just love them and how they look. So when I saw these I got very excited. I am still in need of buying some but I am sure I will. I have seen everything from pumpkins to ghosts. I think these are a great idea, the kids will love them and so will the adults. These would be ideal if you were holding a party. Fairy lights are obviously an idea if you are looking for something a bit less scary. Another would be Halloween bunting. Which is super easy to get and even more easy to put up. This then gives you a little something without going over the top.

Picture: http://www.plantsplus.co.uk/home-gifts-c140/halloween-lights-c146/festive-lights-spider-battery-led-halloween-fairy-lights-x-10-p881
Lastly and the most important is pumpkins. You cant have Halloween without a pumpkin. So get your pens are the ready and a knife and do some awesome pumpkin carving. You can either have your pumpkin inside the house or put it out to show the children you are happy for them to knock. This is a great thing to do as a family. So get together have some fun and get a bit messy while your at it.

Picture: http://www.mrwallpaper.com/view/Funny-Halloween-Pumpkins-2560x1600/
So they are some of the ideas I have when thinking about decorating for Halloween. Do you have any different ones? Let me know in the comments. I hope that this post gave you some inspiration, I loved writing it. I will see you all very soon.

My experience of going to an osteopath

Hi everyone,

I know this is a different post to what you guys are use to me posting. But I thought osteopathy is not something that everyone goes through. So why not talk about my experience with you. I know when I first booked my appointment I was so nervous about what to expect, as I had no idea what I was walking in to. So here is my experience and what you should expect.

Lets start with a little bit about why I was having osteopathy. I had it done about 1 month ago. I had been suffering with a bad back prior to the appointment and this had been going on for roughly a month. The pain had been so bad I had been sent home from work, suffered with dizziness and was on a strong dose of painkillers from the doctors. The pain was in the lower of my back.

Image: http://yourosteopathy.co.uk/osteopathy/
So now we have what you should expect when you go to an osteopath. When you first get there they will sit you down and go through a consultation with you. During this they will find out any medical information, personal information and anything that will help them diagnose the problem. After they have finished following out the consultation they will most likely to ask you to remove certain items of clothing that block where they will be working. At this point they will leave the room allowing you time to undress. Once they come back in they then get down to finding out the problem. In my case we started by standing while she pressed my back in certain places and made me stretch. After this I was then asked to lay on the bed. Once you are on the bed they will carry out certain movements involving massage and manipulation of muscle tissue and bones. They may at some points brief you before they are about to do something, this is because they are about to "pop" something back into place. Once they have finished this they will then ask you to sit up slowly as you may feel dizzy after. At this point they will leave the room to allow you time to get dressed. Once they have returned to the room they will then discuss with you what they have diagnosed the problem to be.

This is likely to take more than one session. So once they have finished they will go on to advise you on seeing them again to check that everything has worked. I personally only had two sessions. But depending on the seriousness of your injury, you may be asked to come back more than once.

Now after all that your probably wondering what happens after. Once your first session is over it will leave you feeling slightly sore and a bit stiff. On this day it is advised that you do nothing. This is so that you allow your body time to repair. Having osteopathy done is an expensive treatment, so you don't want to ruin what has just been corrected. You are most likely to find that first week extremely painful. I know my first week after my first session, I felt worse than when I went in. But you just have to believe you body will repair itself. When you go for your second session you will be informed that you should wake with hardly any pain, if any. This is true. When she told me I thought I was going to have another week from hell at work because of the pain. I got up the next morning and there was nothing.

The last thing I will leave you with is, as I mentioned above it is expensive. But do not let that get in your way, because it really does help. I waited a month before I went for mine, I would never do that again.

Have you ever had to have any osteopathy done? If so let me know in the comments how you found it. I know this is a bit of a different post but I hope that you liked it. Leave me any feedback in the comments, I love hearing from you.

The beauty and the blonde turns 1!!!!!

Hi everyone,

So yesterday my blog turned 1. I honestly cant believe it. A year has gone by and it doesn't feel any different from when I started a year ago. To me this is super exciting, I have literally been writing on this blog for 1 whole year.

Its crazy to think a year ago I was sitting in the office at work talking to my manager about wanting to start a blog. She was so supportive and encouraged me to go for it. It still feels like yesterday that this happened. I remember setting up all my blog and how nervous I was to post that very first post. I still get these nerves every time I post as I want to be posting the best work I can for you guys. Something my manager always tells me is that nerves are a good thing, it shows we care. This is so true. I care that I am producing posts that you want to read.

So this blog post is number 107. I honestly cant believe that I have written 107 blog posts, it blows my mind. I hope that you are all still enjoy them as much as when I first started. When I posted that first blog post, the plan was, one post a week . Here we are now and I aim to produce 3 blog posts a week, which is insane.

The next year I hope this blog still continues to grow and improve. I have plans for changing the image of my blog, which is a current work in progress. The only other thing I aim for in the next year is for you all still to be loving my blog and the content I write.

So lastly the only thing left to do is to say a massive thank you to all of you who read my blog. You make me feel incredible and extremely happy. Also thank you to everyone that has supported me through this journey and left amazing comments. It really does help as I love to hear your feedback.

So all I ask is that you continue to follow me on this journey. Lets make this next year better than this year.

My most used make-up brushes

Hi everyone,

I love make-up. I mean I own enough of it, if I didn't like it we would have a problem. But the problem with make-up is you need the right tools to do the job. So this is where make-up brushes come in. Again this is something that I may own a few too many. But I just love trying new ones. So I thought hey why not tell you guys what brushes I am loving. These are brushes that I use on a daily basis.

Lets start with Morphe brushes. These are my favourite brushes. They wash up well and keep their bristles in very well. Morphe are the brushes I use the most. So lets have a look at what ones I am loving right now.

Deluxe blending crease:

This brush is amazing for applying eye shadow. It is super fluffy so is amazing for blending out the shadow. This then gives you a clean fresh line which is evenly blended. It is amazing for smoky eyes.

Angled liner brush:

This is my go to brush for filling in my brows. It evening applies the product. The brush itself is quite small. This means you can get a more accurate application.

Oval shadow brush:

I love this brush the bristles are really tightly compacted, so it is a nice solid brush. This brush is perfect for blending in dark eye shadows to make sure there are no lines left.

Powder brush:

If you are looking for a powder brush, this is the one you are searching for. It is supper soft and applies powder like nothing I have ever used before. It leaves your powder looking flawless and barely there.

Next up I have a few other brushes that I love all by different brands. So here we go.

Real techniques contour brush:

This is the perfect shaped contour brush. Because of this contour is a so much easier. It applies product evenly and you can go as heavy as you like.

Ecotools brow brush and comb:

I know this one is a bit different but I find it really helps to tame my brows. I normally use it to comb the product through after I have applied it to ensure no uneven bits.

Nanshy angled airbrush:

This brush is amazing with tightly compacted bristles it applies foundation like a dream. Nanshy brushes are also extremely good quality.

Nanshy buffed base:

I love this brush so much. It blends in my foundation perfectly. It has a really tightly compressed bristles so would be amazing for a heavier look of powder.

So they are my most used make up brushes. What are your most used brushes. Let me know in the comments.

Eden's Semilla essential oils review

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me by the company to review. Having said this, all opinions are my own.

Hi everyone,

You may remember back in August I published a blog post reviewing Eden's Semilla jojoba oil. You will find that here. So when they came to me asking if I was interested in working with them again, I jumped at the chance. Today I am reviewing their essential oils. I was lucky enough to have been sent the whole range that they do. I love essential oils, they have so many different uses. If you are interested in seeing their range keep reading.

Firstly for anyone who hasn't read my other blog post let me tell you a bit about Eden's Semilla. Eden's Semilla are a fairly new online business which was founded in the U.S. They specialise in selling oils and serums through their website. The name "Eden's Semilla" is Spanish and translates into "Eden's Seed".

The oils:

The range includes 12 different oils. All of which are perfect and have an incredible aroma. So here is the oils that can buy. Pine tree, Lavender, Bergamot, Cinnamon, Tea tree, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Frankincense, Sweet orange, Eucalyptus, Sandalwood and Peppermint. All of the essential oils have a full on aroma and all smell incredible.

Pine tree: has a rich pine scent, perfect if you like your earthy smells.

Lavender: Extremely relaxing, perfect calming scent.

Bergamot: This is super citrusy.

Cinnamon: This is an all time favourite of mine especially at this time of year. It is super spicy and will warm any home.

Tea tree: This is pure tea tree and I love it. Perfect if you like them fresh smells.

Lemongrass: This is a very energising scent. It is also one of my favourites.

Rosemary: This one is different, very herby.

Frankincense: This is a proper spicy scent, it just hits the spot.

Sweet orange: if you like the smell of oranges, you are gonna love this.

Eucalyptus: This is an incredible one. Got a cold, say goodbye to it with this.

Sandalwood: This is the perfect woody scent. My mum use to always burn this when I was younger.

Peppermint: This is amazing it is pure peppermint and its so fresh.

How to use them:

Essential oils have so many uses. You can apply then to you bed lining to help you sleep, lavender is perfect for this. I like to add them to my bath. This gives you the perfect bath of bliss, very relaxing. Another way you can use them is to add them to a diffuser. I love this because the oil can then be evenly spread round the room. It also makes a room so inviting when you are using essential oils. You can find tons of ideas online for how to use essential oils, these are just some of the ways I like too. Another great way to use them is to add them to a body oil and use them for massage.

What were my first impressions of the products?

I automatically love these oils. The packaging like all Eden's Semilla products is flawless. The aromas of these are strong and you only need such a tiny amount. The range that they have produced is absolutely incredible. I mean there is 12 of them, that's amazing. I have not tried one that I don't like. Obviously I have my favourites but there are none I would not use. I would recommend these to anyone.

Where to buy?

https://edenssemilla.com/

So that is my review of the essential oil range from Eden's Semilla. If you love aromatherapy, you will love these. As you can tell I love their products, but that's because they are outstanding. I hope that you have all had a good start to your week.

Top hair colours for the fall/autumn

Hi everyone,
One of my favourite services to carry out at work is colouring. So its no surprise that I am super excited to write this post. Fall brings out the most awesome array of colours and this year is not a disappointment.

The first one I am super excited about, and if I had dark hair this is how I would want it. Is chocolate rose gold. Yes I know what you are thinking, that's not a hair colour. But it is and trust me its beautiful. With this colour you find that there is more pink tones at the bottom. As you work up to the top it is more in deeper brown hues. This colour is amazing for those of you with brown hair who don't want the hassle of going to the hairdressers every six weeks. As when the colour grows out it will blend in.

Image: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/g3027/hair-color-trends-2016/?slide=1
This one is a colour that you see every fall. Pumpkin spice. I know, what a super cute name for a hair colour. This is a mixture of golden blondes, chestnuts and coppers. Believe me or believe me not, coppers are so in right now. Any red heads out there embrace it. You are bang on trend.

Image: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/g3027/hair-color-trends-2016/?slide=2
Next up we have "grombre". That's right we have a grey ombre. I will be honest with you with this one, it looks beautiful but its not practical. Unless you have mounds of time to spend having it touched up. The idea of this is the top of the hair starts with a dark grey working itself into a paler shade. To all you lot out there who think this is the perfect hair, just remember this is going to require lots of time and money spent to up keep this colour.

Image: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/g3027/hair-color-trends-2016/?slide=3
Anyone who is into your crazy colours, this is for you. Peach screams autumn. Whether you choose to go for a pale soft peach or the full on vibrant orange. This is a must this fall. I am not saying everyone can pull off peach but lets face it, if you can, then why not. Again this is one of them colours that require constant attention.

Image: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/g3027/hair-color-trends-2016/?slide=5
Mermaid blue is another cool colour for any of you out there willing to try. Blue can be worn all year round, but at the moment its everywhere. Using the technique of combining turquoise, aqua, navy and cobalt. By using all these different shades of blue you can make the perfect mermaid hair. So find your creative side and give this a go.

Image: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/g3027/hair-color-trends-2016/?slide=7
OK so I have one for all you food lovers out there. That is watermelon hair. This is super cool but lets face it you need to be daring. With the mixture of the vivid green and crazy pink you will be hard to miss. But on the brighter side your hair will look good enough to eat.

Image: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/hair/g3027/hair-color-trends-2016/?slide=8
So they are some of the hair colours you should be looking out for this fall. I absolutely love them all. Which one is your favourite? Do you know of anymore that I have not mentioned? Let me know in the comments.

Feeling refreshed

Hi everyone,

I thought it was time I gave you guys a bit of a life update. I have had a few things going on recently. So if you are a regular reader you may have noticed that my schedule has been all over the place and I haven't been posting three times a week. I thought I would take this chance to chat to you all and just give you a little explanation as to what is going on.

The title of this post is "feeling refreshed" and that's how I feel. Recently I have been having a case of writers block. If I am honest with you my September favourites post took me three days to write and complete. I was just finding it really hard to get into my usual zone of writing. Normally I can sit down and blog posts are easy to write, once I start I cant stop. But for a few weeks now I have been struggling to write and complete my posts to the standard I normally do. So to all my readers I am sorry for that but don't worry its going to change.

I love writing my blog, it is something I am truly passionate about. But at the same time I have been working hard at work and its been busy. Which I love, its the best part of my job. But having busy days or even slow days which makes it feel like I have been there a week before its even 10am, recently has left me wanting to just come home and chill. As you all know about me I love my "me" time. But I also love writing my blog in my spare time and recently it just wasn't working.

So I made the decision to only post when I could and take a break. I know there is no excuse for not posting and believe me, no one is more disappointed than me. I just felt that I needed this time.

Now I feel refreshed and ready to start getting back to my normal schedule. I have this whole month planned out. With lots of exciting posts to come. So I hope that once I start posting regularly again you all still love my content. If there is anything you would like to see me do, please leave it in the comments.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I will be seeing you very soon.

September favourites

Hi everyone,

So here we are at September favourites, where is this year going? September has been a funny month. I haven't tried many new things but I am still excited to write this post today. So lets jump right into it shall we.

Hair:

Bleach London silver shampoo:

Image: http://www.boots.com/en/Bleach-Silver-Shampoo-250ml_1401400/
That's right everyone, this bad boy is back, and boy am I glad. If your a regular reader you will know that I am a blondie and this is my holy grail. I love my blonde to look its best and this bottle of bliss is what does that. It ensures that all them nasty brassy tones are knocked out. If you are blonde and looking to cool down your colour this is the shampoo you need in your life, trust me.

A trim:

Image: http://allabouthealthyhair.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/how-often-should-you-trim-your-ends-why.html
This sounds oh so slightly strange I know. But being a hairdresser I know its important to care for your hair. Back in September I had a trim up and it was the first time I had had a trim in ages where it didn't NEED a trim. I still had it cut as short as normal, but the beauty was it just wasn't that damaged. I do have it trimmed regularly and I do believe having a trim really does help when done regularly. My hair is now in the best condition it has been in for a very long time.

Beauty:

The body shop Satsuma shower gel:

Image: http://www.rainbowcrush.com/the-body-shop-satsuma-shower-gel-review
This honestly smells like heaven. Have I sat in the bath 10 minutes smelling this before I actually got around to putting it on my bath lily, hell yes. But come on girls who wouldn't? Like fruity scents? This one is going to be right up your street. I just smell it and it makes me think of summer. Sadly I have finished this now but will definitely be repurchasing it.

Food:

Oreos:

Image: http://metro.co.uk/2016/07/07/new-oreo-flavours-mint-and-strawberry-cheesecake-are-here-5991571/
Yes I know not exactly the healthiest food I have posted about. But I have just been loving them. As I write this I have a biscuit tin next to me with a mixture of double chocolate, double cream, mint and strawberry cheesecake. I am guilty and not ashamed to say it. Oreos have always been one of my favourites but in September that went to a whole new level. But don't worry I don't plan on eating all of these tonight.

Other:

Netflix:

Images: http://lifehacker.com/netflix-is-about-to-raise-prices-for-grandfathered-user-1754050403
Yes I am back to talking about Netflix. But lets face the facts here, it is amazing. I would say a large amount of my time is spent watching Netflix in bed, yes please don't judge. I just really like getting home from work having a bath then putting my pjs on and climbing into bed to watch Netflix on my laptop. They have an amazing array of programmes and films on there. Which always leaves me trying to find something for like 20 minutes after I started looking.

So they were some things I was loving in September. I hope that you enjoyed this post. What was you loving last month? Let me know in the comments.

Up and coming beauty trends- fall/autumn edition

Hi everyone,

So on Wednesday I posted a post called up and coming hair trends-fall/autumn edition. I thought as I enjoyed writing and researching that, I would do one for beauty trends. Now I know I am a hairdresser but beauty is something I love. So I do like to keep up to date. Again like with the hair post I have used the trust web to gain what I am going to tell you today.

So this one is exciting and also something I am shocking at. Its black eyeliner. That's right its making a come back and its going to be big this fall. I love the look of winged liner, can I do it? Hell no. But seems this season is going to be screaming bold black eyeliner, I better get some practice in. So ladies grab your liquid liners, kohl liners and any other black liner you can find and get your liner on.

Image: http://www.theukfashionspot.co.uk/beauty/526669-14-best-eyeliners-wont-let/#/slide/1
This one is one of my favourite things about fall, dark lipsticks. I love it when I can get that dark plum lipstick out and put it on. Having said this I do find it hard to find the perfect one with me being so pale. I can find they wash me out. Fall is seeing dark red, plums and nearly blacks. So let out your inner Goth and put on that dark lippie you have been dying to use.

Image: http://www.fashionisers.com/trends/fall-winter-2015-2016-makeup-trends/
Next is glitter and lets face it every girl loves a bit of glitter. So forget your average smoky eye and put some glitter on there. I think this look will look amazing if you are going to an event or a party. But some of you may be able to pull it off in everyday life, its worth a try. So expect to see glitter galore this fall season. Nothing like glitter to add a bit of sparkle to your life.

Image: http://www.self.com/story/glitter-eye-makeup-looks-spring
This is something I don't use a lot of but I am hoping to get more into it this fall and that is blush. I have never mastered blush. I either do it to light and you can barely see it or I over do it and look like coco the clown. But this season sees a cute girly glow on the cheekbones. Girls trust me your blusher is going to become your must have.

Image: http://www.fashionisers.com/trends/fall-winter-2015-2016-makeup-trends/
So they are some of the beauty trends you need to be looking out for this fall. As you all know I love autumn and cant wait too see all of these coming into play. Do you know of any other ones? Let me know in the comments.
