Tips for packing when going away

Hi everyone,
As you are reading this I am most likely to be finishing off my packing. As I am going on holiday tomorrow and I am so excited. So I thought there is no better time than now to share my packing tips with you. I will be honest with you I use to be the worst packer ever, I always had to get my sister to help me. I was the packer who quite literally would empty their wardrobe into their suitcase. Not anymore. I now only pack items that I will wear and need. So if you are interested in hearing my packing tips keep reading.
1. Make lists:
I know I sound like a crazy lady but trust me this helps. It will ensure you are organised and also that you don't over pack with items you don't need. You can section you lists into different areas. Such as clothing, shoes, toiletries, make-up etc. I make my lists on my phone so that if I remember something while I am out and about, I can then quickly add it.

2. Don't pack every piece of make-up you own:
Trust me taking too much make-up does not benefit anyone. Will you really wear all 8 lipsticks you have packed? And do you really need 3 different types of foundations? The answer is most likely no. Just take what you need. The only thing you result in by over packing with make-up is an over weight suitcase. Just remember that make-up isn't light. If you need inspiration for what to take and how much to take you can see what I would pack over on my YouTube channel. You can watch my "My make-up holiday must haves" video here.
3. Roll your clothing:
Yes I understand that not every item can be rolled. For example if you roll a beach towel its just going to be bulky, but please don't make excuses for vest tops and shorts. Any light items of clothing can easily be rolled to fit better into your suitcase. I guarantee you fit more in by rolling some of it than if you just layer it all up.
4. Don't take clothes you know you wont wear:
You know that pair of jeans you put in your case "just in case". News flash if your going somewhere hot, you don't need them. Why waste space in your suitcase with items that you know you wont be wearing. I only pack clothes I am 100% sure I will be wearing. Yes some of them don't get worn but I am more likely to come home with a couple of items I haven't worn. Not half my suitcase. So when packing really ask your self, will I be wearing this? If your not sure of the answer likelihood, you wont be wearing that.
5. You don't need 100 pairs of shoes:

I have learnt this after many years of travelling abroad. You don't need your whole shoe collection on holiday with you. Not only do they take up so much room in your case, they are also incredibly heavy. This is what you tend to find will be weighing your case down. Really all you need is a pair for during the day and one or two pairs for the evening. Travel lightly, the excess, you only don't wear.

6. Find small bottles:

When it comes to toiletries you really don't need to be taking your 500ml bottles of shampoo and conditioners. If you can find them in the cute travel sized bottles in boots or else where, you should totally try them.

7. Wrap wash bags in towels/clothing:

This will ensure that anything inside the bags doesn't get damaged. It also is a good idea to use water proof wash bags just so if anything leaks, your stuff is not damaged.

8. Travel as light as possible:

I know for all you ladies out there this is not easy, but trust me it helps. Just remember that while you are out on your holidays you may be buying gifts. You don't want to be over weight coming home. So make sure you travel as light as possible to avoid this happening.

So they are my tips for packing when going away. Do you have any? Let me know in the comments. Also are you going away this year? I hope that you have had a fabulous weekend. See you soon.

My most used make-up products

Hi everyone,
As you all know I love make-up and I am guessing you love it too. If you do your in the right place. I thought today I would share with you my most used make-up. Now I do own quite a bit of make-up, but what female doesn't? I do own make-up that I use more than others. So I thought why not share them with you. You may like these too or it may give you an idea of what your buying next. Either way I hope you enjoy. Shall we get on with it......
Bareminerals ready SPF 20 foundation: R170
I LOVE this foundation. It is the perfect match to my skin. I just find this lasts really well on my skin and it has a great coverage. This is a powder foundation and I just apply this using my Real techniques expert face brush. It is super easy to apply and really quick. This foundation is amazing for when your in a hurry.

Rimmel London sun shimmer bronzing compact powder- Light matte
This is super cute for summer. I think this bronzer is the perfect shade for summer. Whether you have pale skin or a nice summer glow, this will have you glowing all summer long. I either use this for contour or I just do a light dusting all over my face to give me a glow.

Soap and glory thick and fast mascara- Black
I feel like just recently this is all you guys hear about, for that I am sorry. But it is honestly one of my favourite mascaras. It leaves your lashes looking really long and with volume. Which I just love. I even have to say the brush on this is kind of amazing, just so thick and perfect.

Maybelline color tattoo 24hr- on and on bronze
This is my go to product for my eyes when I am in a hurry. Its so simple. I just apply it with my fingers and then blend it out with a fluffy brush. The colour of this is a beautiful deep bronze colour. It is honestly perfect. Once applied and blended out, it creates the perfect bronzy eye.

Bareminerals correcting concealer SPF 20- Light 2
Anyone who is a regular reader to my blog, should know this product like the back of their hand. I know I rave about it all the time, but that is because it is the best. Like the foundation this concealer is the perfect match. It also blends out like a dream and has a high coverage. The texture is very creamy, which I love, and it applies so easily.

No7 high shine lip crayon
Anyone who's been reading my blog of as late will know that I love this lip crayon. I just don't know what the colour is. I know it sounds crazy but its true. But however not knowing the colour doesn't stop me loving it. This is the perfect pinkie nude in my book. It looks amazing when you have a tan as well. So if you can find out what this shade is I would love to know.

Maybelline super stay 24hr waterproof powder- 10 ivory
This is an old purchase of mine but I have actually only just started using it. I honestly don't know why I waited so long. This powder is amazing. I find that working in a hot salon my make-up can slip but when I use this it tends to hold it in place much better. I honestly cant say a bad thing about this powder and I will definitely be repurchasing it.

Rimmel London match perfection foundation- 100 ivory
Back at it with the foundations and this one is in liquid form. This was probably the first ever foundation I bought that actually matched my skin tone. I have just carried on repurchasing it since then. I love the way this applies, it is so smooth and flawless. I also love the high coverage of this foundation as well. It is super easy to apply you can either use a brush, sponge or your fingers.

L'Oreal Paris brow artist genius kit- lighter shade

This is my go to for when I need to do my brows in a hurry. I love the fact that I can also use this when I want that perfect brow too. As this comes with powder and wax, which come on lets face it, that's amazing. This shade is perfect for my brows and blends in lovely. The kit comes with a powder, a wax, a mini brow brush and a mini pair of tweezers. This is the perfect holiday brow kit, all in one.

So they are my most used make-up products, have you used any of these? What are your favourite make-up products? Leave me your answers in the comments. As you can see all my products are well used and will all be repurchased when they are gone. I hope your having a good week.

All about skincare for normal skin

Hi everyone,
Todays post is the last in mine and Amy's summer collaboration. I honestly cant believe that we have worked our way through the whole of July. I have loved writing these posts and we both hope that you have enjoyed reading them. Many of you who have been reading for sometime now will know how much I love my skincare. If you are a new reader, you are about to find out. I have a major love for all things skin, its my guilty pleasure you may say. So for this last joint post we our working on skincare. I am aiming mine at normal skincare as that is what my skin type is. So here we go.
A few basics about my skin.
So like I have mentioned above I have normal skin but it is a mixture with combination. By this I mean my skin is not dry but it is not oily either. It is just the right balance. I have to say I am very lucky with my skin and don't have too much trouble with it. I do suffer with acne/blemishes. Which I wrote a similar post on, that you will find here. As I have explained in my other post I have tried nearly every product out there and I am still currently on the hunt for new ones. But I do purchase all my products with my own money. I am not saying that products and treatments that I have tried will or will not work for you. But they are what work for me.
Signs of normal skin.
Normal skin as I said above is where your skin is not oily yet not dry. You may find that you suffer with some dry or oily patches but it will not affect you whole skin. Also with normal skin you tend not to find you suffer with any imperfections on your skin. I have acne/blemishes but this is because my skin can get oily.
Ways to help this skin type.
Normal skin is nice and easy to care for. As you don't have any imperfections you do not require any specific treatments for your skin. So here are a few ways to care for your skin type:
- Drink plenty of water
- Treat yourself to regular facials
- Use products that work for your skin
- Do a morning and evening skincare routine EVERYDAY
- Cant afford to pay for a facial treatment, do an at home DIY one instead
Treatments/products for normal skin.
If you read my blog you will know that I love NYR products. So yes they are the products I am going to be recommending but there are so many out there you just need to find what works for you. I just find NYR products best for me. So here are my recommendations...
- Rose facial wash

- Rehydrating rose toner

- Rehydrating rose facial polish

- Almond moisturiser

As you can see I haven't recommended any treatment products, but just the basic products you will need on a day to day basis. I do use treatment products, if you would be interested in seeing what I use, you can see them here for my morning routine and here for my evening routine.

Products to avoid.

With normal skin there is no products I think you should really avoid, I try everything. My advice is try everything, if you feel a product isn't working for you, stop it. If a product is working for you, keep using it and see what the benefits are. Its all about trying things out, don't be scared, just go for it.

So that is my skincare post for normal skin. What did you think? Have you got any other advice that I forgot? Let me know in the comments. I would just like to say a massive thank you to the lovely Amy who has shared this experience with me. Also a massive thank you to all you wonderful people that read my blog. I hope that you have enjoyed this summer series from me and Amy. If you want us to do more let us know in the comments. If you want to see Amy's skincare post I think she is posting it sometime this week. So keep an eye out on her blog for that. Have a absolutely wonderful week.

Bouncy beach waves and more

Hi everyone,

Its that time again. Its time for another post from mine and Amy's summer series. Today its all about hair, which lets face it, is my life. So I thought I would share with you my top 5 hairstyles I think are awesome for the summer. Whether you are going abroad or just staying at home. Its nice to have a play around with your hair. So lets get on with it.

Waterfall braid

This one is for everyone out there who wants to keep their hair down through the summer. The waterfall braid is beautiful. You can either do it like above or bring it right round to the other side. This is a simple yet stylish look for summer. Also if you have naturally wavy hair or curl your hair this looks perfect for the beach.

Messy high bun

If I had long hair this would be me every summer. You honestly cant go wrong with a messy high bun. This is perfect for if you are away and are planning on spending your days by the pool or beach. Trust me the messy bun is the go to for summer styles.

Fishtail

A fishtail braid is a super easy and quick way to style your hair. You can either wear this tight and neat or you can have it looser for a more beachy look. This is an ideal way to wear your hair to keep it off of your face. Also it looks super cute.

Beach waves

This one is for you girls out there with short hair as well. I think there is nothing more summery than beach waves. They are normally my go to in the summer months if I am not just leaving my hair natural. These can be created using tongs, a wand or straighteners. Honestly anyone can do these. I have to say this is perfect for people with short hair, I think there is nothing more adorable than a curly bob.

Plait at the nape of the neck into a bun

This is for those people who are looking for something different. A plait starting at the nape of the neck going into a bun, is a winner hairstyle. Trust me you want that hairstyle everyone wants to know how to do? This is that one. It is ultra summery and will have everyone turning heads by the pool or beach.

So they are some of my favourite summer hairstyles. What summer hairstyles will you be rocking this summer? Let me know in the comments. I hope that you have enjoyed reading this as much as I have writing it. You can check out Amy's posts from our summer series here. Have a lovely weekend.

What inspires me

Hi everyone,
Every now and again we all need a bit of inspiration. But the question is where do we find it? I personally have lots of different ways that I find inspiration. I do think that the road to inspiration is a personal journey we all take. Be that now or in the future. So I thought today I would share with you what I find gives me inspiration. If this kind of post interests you, keep on reading.
1. Quotes
I think this one applies to everyone. Quotes can be so inspiring. They can be about anything from life to relationships to song lyrics. Yet they all mean something. Have you ever really looked at a quote of song lyrics from a song you love. The way it makes you feel is incredible and it makes you see the song a different way to before. One of my favourite quotes is "enjoy life today, yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come". This really inspires me to make sure I live my life to the full. It is true you never know what is going to happen, you have one life, why waste it? What is your favourite quote that you find inspires you? Let me know in the comments.
2. My work colleagues
I work with an incredible group of girls, who are so inspiring. They all have their own stories to tell. From marriage to children to running your own business. What I find so inspiring about them is that we have all been through our separate struggles through life and yet at the end of the day we are all there for each other. If you need someone to talk to or advice for something, you are always guaranteed that one of the girls is there for you. I am so lucky to work with such an incredible group of girls.
3. Positivity
This is a massive one. If you are looking for inspiration don't surround yourself with negativity or negative people. This will not help. If you are in a positive place you will find inspiration just comes to you. Trust me. So always make sure if you are looking for inspiration, you are in positive surroundings.
4. YouTubers
This one is a bit different. But this is where I found inspiration to start a YouTube channel. You can find my channel here. I have watched YouTube for quite a few years now and it has always made me want to do it to. It amazes me how incredibly confident the people come across, even when they don't feel it.
5. Pinterest

If you are looking for inspiration for anything pinterest is the place to look. I love looking at all the home décor on there as it gives me so many ideas as how I want my room to look. But you can look at anything on there from quotes to hairstyles. So definitely give it a look at.

6. Joe wicks

Image result for Joe Wicks
Picture:  https://www.sundaypost.com/in10/health/internet-sensation-joe-wicks-on-a-healthy-living-mission-with-new-book-lean-in-15/
As many of you who have been reading my blog for a while I have been following the lean in 15 books. Joe wicks is a massive inspiration to me. He has done so well for himself and he looks incredible for it. My body has changed so much since I have been following Joes books. But it is a change that will be staying. Do you have anyone that inspires you? If so who is it? Let me know in the comments.

7. The bath

I know this one looks a little bit mad but the bath is where most of my ideas come to me. I think it is because I am relaxing and winding down. Some of my best blog posts have been thought of while I was in the bath. Where does most of your inspiration come to you?

So they are some of the things that inspires me. What inspires you? Let me know in the comments. I hope you have enjoyed this post and it has helped you out in some way. I hope you are having a good week. I will see you on Saturday.

Hot hair tips

Hi everyone,
This is another instalment of mine and Amy's collaboration. As a hairdresser looking after my hair in the summer months is always in my top interests. So I thought today I would share with you my tips on how to care for your hair in the summer. With the hotter weather getting here (as I am currently writing this it is 26 degrees in England) I think it is important that we look after our hair so it doesn't become damaged from the sunshine. As lovely as it is to see the beautiful weather on the other hand it can play havoc with your hair. So keep reading if you want to know how you can avoid sun damaged hair.
1. Dry shampoo

Dry shampoo will be your savour this summer. Whether you are using it between washes or going for that voluminous bed head look. Your hair doesn't need to look perfect all the time, trust me, I know. In the summer it is nice to just leave it natural and a bit more messy. So why not? You don't need to have every hair in place. When its hot you don't want to be washing your hair all the time. One, it makes you hot and two, its just far to much effort. So welcome unwashed bed hair and grab your dry shampoo. Make your hair work for you, you don't have to be like everyone else.
2. Colouring
Now in the summer it is still fine to colour your hair, but just do it with more caution. If you have light hair and your thinking of going even lighter, I would recommend not to go as light as you want. Remember the sun will naturally lighten the colour you have on your hair. So if you get to that perfect blonde that you want and then go away in the sunshine. When you come back you may find that this colour has lifted up too much. The same goes for people wanting to go dark from light. Just keep in mind that the sun will lift the colour up. So if you are blonde and put a brown all over the chances are that the brown will fade far too quickly. Leaving you wondering why your colour hasn't lasted or why it may look patchy. My best advice would be go to your local hairdressers and talk to them about your colour. Hairdressers will know what's best to put on and what will suit you.
3. Conditioners, serums and oils

I know that looks like a lot to think about and where do you start? What are they all for? Well let me help you out with that one. Starting with conditioners. By this I mean leave in conditioners. These are very good for caring for your hair and keeping it in good condition. Also if you find that your hair tangles easily, this is what you will need. A few sprays of this and your comb will go through much easier. Next up serums. Serums are fairly heavy, so if you have very fine hair that does not like weight, avoid this. If you don't have fine hair this is for you. A serum is a very dense oil like consistency. They are good to put on damp hair to condition and smooth the hair. On the other hand they are incredible for after you have blow-dried your hair, to tame any flyway's. You only need a tiny amount, even less than pea size. Finally oils. This is one of my favourites, I cant rave about them enough. Oils are good for most hair types. You get heavier oils and lighter oils. They leave your hair in amazing condition and they help your hair stay that way in hot weather.
4. Washing you hair
I can probably tell what you are thinking, why has she included this. Washing your hair everyday, will dry it out. If your hair dries out it then becomes dry, resulting in damaged hair. Your now going to think that this is gross but what I am about to tell you the truth. You really only need to wash your hair about 2-3 times a week. I know it sounds gross but I only wash my hair 3 times a week. It is even better if you can go once a week, but don't worry if you cant.
5. Heat defence

I know I talk about this all the time, I know I do. But this is so important. If you are using heat on your hair, you need to use a heat defence spray. You should use this every time. Be this spraying on before straightening or before you blow-dry your hair. This will help to keep your hair in the best condition possible while using a heated appliance on it.
6. Don't over do the heat
I know I said above you should always use heat defence, it is true. But another way you can help is by not over doing it with the heat. Even if you stop blow-drying it or straightening it everyday. This will help to stop your hair from drying out. The sun will do enough of that you don't need any other factors to help it.
So they are my hot hair tips for caring for your hair in the summer. Do you have anything you do differently in the summer? If you do let me know in the comments. You can find Amy's post about hair in the summer over on her blog, she is bring it out this week. So keep your eyes peeled. I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will see you Friday.

Top 5 places I want to visit

Hi everyone,

I love nothing more than travelling and getting to see new places. I have to admit I have travelled quite a bit throughout my life. I have been lucky enough to have been able to go away on family holidays for 1-2 weeks every year. I love it. I don't like the airports but once that is over I am fine. I always think there is nothing better when you work, than sitting down by the pool in a nice sunny country. As that is one thing we lack extremely here in England, the sunshine. So today I thought I would share with you my top 5 places I would love to visit.

1. Australia

Image result for Mermaid Beach Australia
Picture: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/395613148490713336/
This is a massive ambition of mine, and one day I will get there. I just think Australia is a beautiful place. I am so envious of anyone who lives there, you are so lucky. Can you just imagine getting up in the morning and seeing that beautiful sunshine and long stretches of golden sands? How amazing would that be. I am all for hot weather as well, so the hotter the better.

2. Disneyland Florida

Image result for disneyland florida
Picture: http://www.disneytouristblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/DSC_7452-as-Smart-Object-1-copy.jpg
As a massive Disney fan, this is definitely one of the things on my bucket list. Going to Disneyland has always appealed to me. I just cant think of anything more magical. I love the characters, the music, everything about Disney films. So to visit Disneyland would just be a dream come true.

3. The fairy pools in Scotland

Image result for fairy pools scotland
Picture: http://www.placestoseeinyourlifetime.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Fairy-Pools-Isle-of-Skye-Scotland-4.jpg
I have visited Scotland before and let me tell you it is one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit. My advice, if you were thinking of going, would be make sure you always have a camera or phone to hand at all times. Scotland is picturesque, you don't want to miss a moment of it. But I have never visited the fairy pools in Scotland. I have seen so much about them and to look at they have to be one of the most stunning things I have ever seen in a picture. I hope that one day I get to visit and I can tell you if they are just as good in real life.

4. America

Image result for venice beach
Picture: http://www.scottyphotos.com/images/VeniceBeachCA/Venice%20Beach%20046.JPG
Now I am not particularly fussy with where in America I would like to visit. Because lets face it, its massive. I would just love to experience the being there. There is quite a lot I would love to see in America, like I would love to visit new York, see the grand canyon, see what Vegas is like, walk along Venice beach, and so much more. There is so much to do and see. But I have plenty of time. The one thing putting me off is the long flight, but one day I am going to have to bite the bullet and just do it.

5. Amsterdam

Image result for amsterdam
Picture: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/be/KeizersgrachtReguliersgrachtAmsterdam.jpg
Amsterdam made it on to my top 5 because I have never done a city break. I have never even been to London properly. I have seen so many pictures from one of the girls at work who has visited Amsterdam twice. It looks incredibly beautiful and would make the perfect weekend away. So it is definitely one of my places I would like to visit in the future.

So they are my top 5 place I want to see. Have you visited any of them? If so what did you think? Do you recommend them? Is there anywhere else you would recommend? Let me know all your answers in the comments. While you are there also leave me your top 5, so I can have a read. Hope you all have had an incredible weekend.

My holiday must haves

Hi everyone,
With holiday season quickly approaching us I thought I would share with you my holiday must haves. Obviously I take all the usual stuff like clothes and shoes like everyone else. But there are a few certain things guaranteed to be going on holiday with me, no matter where I am going. I hope that if you are going away this will give you some ideas of what to take. If your not going away I hope that you enjoy this post any way. Summer posts are one of my favourites. So lets start.....
Sun cream/tanning oil:

Whether you are holidaying in the UK or going further a float, if its going to be hot you are going to need this. You should wear sun cream at all times in the sun. If you don't burn that much and your skin is use to the sun, you can use tanning oil. I only use this in certain places as I don't want to risk getting burnt. Sun cream is always one of the first things I pack in to my case. I know there is so much more I should be thinking about like have I packed enough underwear or remembered socks if I am going to be wearing my sneakers. But honestly sun cream always comes first.
Lip balm:

I know this one is a little bit random. But we mostly holiday abroad. In which case I tend to suffer with dry lips in extreme heats. So a lip balm is always essential so that my lips don't dry out. I tend to find if I don't use one, my lips go all dry and sore. Making applying makeup a no go. So always remember that trusty lip balm, you never know when you might need it.
Sun hat/bandanas:

Every year that I go away I am guilty of burning my head. I cant help it, it just always seems to happen. So a sun hat is required. As you can see from the picture above I have a bowler hat. This is really good for keeping the sun off of my head. This is not always my first choice though, as if I am away I tend to get a straw hat. This is because I think they look super summery. As my hair is short I cant tie it back very well. So my next solution is to wear a bandana. I don't only wear these when I am away, I sometimes wear them to work. These are super amazing for keeping my hair off my face. I tend not to go anywhere without one.
Book:

When I go away I love nothing more than sitting by the pool and reading a book. I mean I am on my feet all day at work so when I am on holiday its all about chilling out. I tend to read about 2-3 books while I am away depending how long I go for. But in august I go away for a week so I will probably read a couple of books. I know what some of you are thinking, how boring. But I do also do plenty of walking and seeing the touristy stuff to, I don't just sit on my bum the whole time. So if you are going on holiday and are planning on taking some chill time, take a book or two. You might be surprised how more relaxed you feel when you get home.
Bikinis:

What holiday is complete without a couple of bikinis, for you ladies out there. We work all year to get our bodies just right for that summer body we want. So why not flaunt it with that dream bikini you keep looking at? I personally treat myself to three new bikinis for my holiday as I have done so well with losing some weight and toning up. I feel so much more confident and cant wait to rock these new bikinis.
IPod and headphones:

I know what you must be thinking, why is this a must have? Well if I am not reading by the pool, likelihood is I am listening to music. This is my ultimate chill time and it just helps me to unwind. So while you are on holiday is the perfect time to do it.
Miniature skincare:

I love to keep up with my skincare routine while I am away. Nothing beats little miniatures of products that will do me while I am on holiday. I love this Neal's Yard Remedies one. So if you want to keep up with your skincare but your going away, check to see if you can get them in miniatures. If not put some of you bigger bottles into small ones.
Sunglasses:

I don't know if you are like me but if there is sun, my sunglasses are out. If I don't wear them I suffer with really bad headaches. So they are constantly in my bag. Home or away. But if you go on holiday, they are a must. I love these aviator ones I got from Boots a few years back. I would love to get a pair of ray bans, but I need to save a bit more.
Make-up:

I only wear makeup in the evening while I am away, so I don't really take very much. But this is personal preference. I just tend to find it too hot to wear a ton of make-up. All I need is my basics, that will get me by nicely while I am away.
Hair oil:

This again is a massive major for when I am away. Blonde hair and hot sun are not the best of mixtures. I do have bleach on my hair so it can go quite dry. So hair oil is like my holy grail while I am away. This guarantees to keep my hair in the best condition it can be while I am in the sun.
So they are my holiday must haves. What are your holiday must haves? Leave them in the comments for me. I would love to read them. I hope this post has given you some inspiration for if you will be travelling this summer. I am planning on posting more summer posts throughout July and August. So keep your eyes peeled as I love writing these kinds of posts.

10 awesome body care products you need this summer

Hi everyone,
So here is another post for mine and Amy's collaboration. I hope that you have been enjoying them so far. Today I am writing about my top 5 body care products I think you will need this summer. You will then find the other 5 products over on Amy's blog. Which you can find by clicking here. Summer is all about getting your body out and enjoying the good weather. To do this you need to look tip top. These five products I am recommending will ensure you are summer ready. If this has got you interested, keep reading.
1. St Tropez Tanning Lotion:

Lets face it we don't walk in to summer with an incredible tan. I mean if you live in England like me, we have probably just got out of our ever lasting winter. If you don't live in the UK and have good weather all the time, I am extremely jealous. So when summer does finally reach us, we might need a head start with the tan. As there is nothing worse than getting out your shorts or summer dresses, to realise you look like Casper the ghost. So fake tan is my little helping hand through summer. Say goodbye to pasty legs and hello bronzed goddess.
2. Soap and Glory Righteous Butter:

You need silky soft skin in summer, especially if you are planning on rocking that bikini this year. As its going to be hotter in the summer months you also need to keep you skin well moisturised. As you can find that it dries out more in these months. I love the Righteous Butter, it is super creamy and leaves your skin feeling incredible. Body butters aren't just for the winter months. Make sure you look after your skin through the summer too.

3. Original Source Lime Shower Gel:

I personally love fruity scents but what better time to get them out of the cupboard than summer. This one is super nice and smells incredible. Lime is a perfect scent for summer. So whether you are using this in the shower at home or using it while you are away. Let this shower gel into your summer routine.

4. The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue:

Summer is the time to find them sandals that are hiding in the bottom of your cupboard. But if you are going to be wearing your flip flops, you need good looking feet. Trust me you don't want your winter feet in summer shoes. So get yourself a decent foot cream, I love this one. This will help keep your feet looking on top form this summer. Believe me when I say if you feet look good you feel 10 times more confident.

5. Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub:

Again we want epic looking skin this summer. So please wave goodbye to them scaly dry legs, because you don't want them disturbing the peace. Especially after following my other products you are going to look summer ready and you don't want dry skin letting you down. Try to exfoliate 2-3 times a week depending on how scaly them legs are. Remember we are aiming for silky smooth skin. This combined with body butter is going to have you on the right track.

So they are my top 5 products I think you should be using this summer. What products do you like using in the summer? Let me know in the comments. You can find Amy's posts here. I think she will be posting hers sometime this week, so keep your eyes peeled. I hope that you have enjoyed this post. I will see you very soon.

Garden fun make-up

Hi everyone,
Lets face it summer is coming and we are going to be getting our BBQs out. Which will probably involve family coming to visit. So obviously your make-up has to look tip top for when they all come. For todays post I am doing my second part to the first part of mine and Amy's summer series. So if you haven't seen my first post that was my sizzling summer make-up, you can check that out here. Also if you want to check out Amy's first post you will find that here. So lets take a look at what I would wear for a garden party.

Base:

For a garden party I would tend to go for a bit more of a higher coverage than if I was away on holiday. This is because as I live in the UK, I know that my make-up will last. I would start by priming my skin with the Rimmel stay matte primer. I like this one as it is easy to apply and makes your skin feel so smooth. Next is concealer and foundation. For these I go for Bareminerals correcting concealer and the Rimmel match perfection foundation. Both of these are perfect as they both have a fairly high coverage. Of course I am also going to powder everything in place. For this my go to would be Maybelline super stay 24hr waterproof powder. No garden party make-up would be complete  without a bit of bronzer. I like the Maybelline dream sun bronzing powder, there is nothing better than a summer glow.

Brows:

My go to the brows would have to be my Morphe brow palette. As you can see this contains so many different colours for the brows. It also includes a wax and a highlight. I use the first powder on the bottom row, I just find this one works for me.

Eyes:

For eyes I am using my trusty Morphe palette in 35W. This palette is just stunning, I cant even express how much I love it. You have anything from neutrals to pinks and purples to greys and blacks. Shimmers to mattes. It really is the palette of dreams. I would then finish off these beautiful colours with my Benefit they're real tinted primer with my Soap and glory thick and fast mascara. These two put together are a powerful combination. They leave my lashes looking long and well separated.

Lips:

As always finish of this perfect garden party makeup with doing your lips. I love the Soap and glory sexy mother pucker in charm offensive and the Maybelline color drama in Light it up. Charm offensive is a pinkie nude and looks incredible on the lips if you are looking for more toned down lips. But if you are feeling bold and want all them summer vibes I would go for Light it up. This is the perfect red and as it is a lip crayon it is so easy to apply.

So that is my make-up look for a garden party. How would you do your make-up? Let me know in the comments. I hope that you have enjoyed these first two posts from mine and Amy's series. I look forward to posting the rest of the posts. Till then have a fabulous weekend. See you soon.
